Syndra (League of Legends) Completed Cosplay

Hiya lovelies!!

Here are pictures of my "completed" Syndra cosplay. Completed in quotations because I didn't actually finish the skirt, I didn't have time so I just cut a few pieces of black fabric and tucked them into my shorts haha. Sssh don't tell anyone!!

Check out my other Syndra posts:
(links will be updated when all of the posts have been published)

I'll be completing them for the next con that I wear Syndra to! :)

Here are pictures of my completed cosplay! Starting off with the makeup and circle lenses. Armor and outfits can look cool, but you can't forget about your face!

All of my armor placed together!

Now, here are some closeup shots. I took all of these photos after I returned from Anime Expo aka fresh out of my suitcase, so please keep that in mind if you see any ripping/chipped/fading parts!

The bracers look quite black in these photos, but they're mostly dark purple and gold with silver detailing. Lots of weathering and drybrushing with dark paints to get the worn look.

Loops on the inside of my costume that attached to the main body armor piece through ribbons and hooks.

Back and fromnt of my helmet. You can see the worbla/craft foam pieces on the front and sides but I'm planning to smooth them all out for the next convention! The ear pieces are made from craft foam and hotglued onto the sides of the helmet.

I bought my silver ponytail wig from wig-supplier.com. It was actually a twin-tail wig but I dissected one of the ponytails to create the two little long bits that hang out of the front part of her hair.

I am wearing the Vassen Bambi Queen Violet circle lenses that I got from Pinky Paradise. You can get them here! They are "natural" purple lenses (not super bright) that have a strong black outer ring and fade to yellow in the middle! I'll be doing a full circle lens post on all of the lenses I used at Anime Expo.

Selfie taken on the way to the convention! I'm not crying haha! I had just put my lenses in + some eyedrops ;)
I chose to do a strong winged eye, and thick dark eyeliner on the lower waterline. I really contoured my face to make it look more angular. I gave myself strong cheek contour/highlighting, contoured my nose to look more defined. Wore a sheer red lip balm. Didn't colour my eyebrows but filled them in with light brown powder. Syndra's outfit was mostly black and the helmet/wig were covering my eyebrows so I wasn't super concerned.

Jom chillin in my armor! Peipa-chan had to pretty much glue my into my armor because I didn't have time to make proper straps with velcro haha! At the end of the day I had to cut myself out of my costume ;v;

Was lucky enough to participate in Sky William's newest video! We pretty much just had to catwalk and put on our cosplay which they edited together and made into a timelapse. These cosplayers are so talented so I was honoured to be able to film alongside them! :0

Here's the video! Ahh It's so cool! :D

With the beautiful Domineau as Ironscale Shyvana on the right. On the left, met a super cool Graves cosplayer at Sky William's video shoot! His gun looked SO LEGIITTT and it was super light as well!!

SYNDRA ON URF MODE? SO MANY BALLSSSSS
Haha too bad I never got to play on URF mode, I think that was when I was at the Gathering? Or exams? I remember there was a certain reason why I couldn't do it and I hope they bring it back!

I was also featured in MLZ Studio's League of Legends showcase video! It was my first time seeing him again in 2 years (last time was Otakon) and it was so much fun to film! Luckily, we ran into a Super Minion cosplayer who agreed to be thrown by me for my Syndra E ;D

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you have any questions about how it was made or painted. I'll try my best to answer them asap!

Hiya lovelies!!

Now that I've returned from England / finished making cosplay / Anime Expo in LA, I finally have time to sit down and blog! I've returned back to my boring everyday life...sitting at home, drawing, working the part time summer job in retail...zzzzzz

Over the past year, my nail polish collection has exploded. My addiction got even worse when I went to England for the school year and had access to Barry M!! (Best nail brand ahh) Here are some of the colours that I've been wearing non-stop~ Pretty colours for summer!

Barry M nail paint in Arabian, Barry M Gelly nail paints in Dragon Fruit and Guava, Rimmel 60 Second nail polish in Rose Libertine, and Seche Vite clear top coat (not picture because it's clear~)

I've been wearing these colours all through late spring and summer! Arabian is a really pretty blue/green duochrome polish. Dragon Fruit and Guava are Barry M's attempt at 'gel finishes', promising long lasting and glossy colour. Rose Libertine really is the perfect coral colour, a true mix of pink and orange! For some reason it photographed much darker, but the colour looks like how it appears in the bottle.

And of course, trusty old Seche Vite! I really can't use any other top coat. Seche Vite dries your nail polish very fast so you don't have to wait around for it to dry! Also protects from chipping, etc.

Which one is your favourite colour? :D

The Works @ Hamilton

Hiya lovelies!

This past Sunday, I was in Hamilton for Con Bravo! A very last minute decision to check out the small convention. I've heard some pretty good reviews of it, so a few friends and I drove down to hang out! Didn't cosplay though.

Since there wasn't much to do at the convention (everything was being packed away since it was the last day of the con), we decided to wander around. Went out to grab lunch at Jackson Square. Decided to check out The Works - a gourmet burger join that had some great reviews!

The Works is located right across the street from the Hamilton Convention Centre.

The front of the restaurant isn't flashy, its a boring grey building with a simple sign. Doesn't look like much, but it's quite cosy inside. Staff were really chill and friendly as well!

This whole section of the menu was for burgers! So many interesting options! Elk patties, poutine burgers, avocado and cheese and peanut butter... I'm sure they're all great! But I opted to play it safe haha. On Emily's recommendation, I got the Teriyaki Melt ($13.76), featuring fried mushrooms, teriyaki sauce and havarti cheese on a chicken breast patty.

Drinks came in measuring cups? Haha we all thought this was quite interesting! At least you could track how much you were drinking. A lengthy debated ensued as to how the restaurant was able to store all of these, especially since they're not easily storable?

Derpy faces with Emily! So lovely being able to hang out with her again after not seeing her in almost a year! We've got quite a few new cosplays planned, I'm looking forward to it! :D

#teamiphone
Changed my case to a white rubber cellaris phone case that came with my phone since my other ones were dirty.

Aaaand the burger arrives! So good but so filling omg. The patty was thick, the mushrooms and cheese worked really well together. Super filling though, I could only finish about 2/3.

Aaand what's this?? A lightbulb?

Yup, lightbulb salt and pepper shakers! Wow so hip!!

Loved eating at The Works, definitely going to come back sometime soon and try out another type of burger on their menu! :D

lil makeup haul

Hiiiiii lovelies,

I'm going to straight up admit that I have a makeup addiction. (I blame Boots/Superdrug on my exchange with all of their 3 for 2 sales even though makeup was like double the price lol.) A small beauty outlet near my house was going out of business. I happened to pass by one day while I was thrifting and picked up a few things for super cheap!

Bought these 3 things for about $10!! Pretty good considering it would normally cost maybe $25 in total at Walmart or something.

I can usually find a way to justify buying new makeup. Needed new mascara because my current one (mini Benefit They're Real'sample that I got with a magazine or something) is running out. Wanted to try the Baby Skin primer but didn't want to pay the $10 for it because I have a mini Benefit Porefessional sample (also from a magazine, do you see my problem) that I'm still getting through. I can always justify a shimmery champagne eyeshadow because it's what I wear every day.

I really like this eyeshadow pot! I've never tried any of Maybelline's Colour Tattoo line but I've heard some pretty good things about it! I got this eyeshadow pot in the colour 55 Barely Brazen, It's a super shimmery nude/champagne colour. I usually wear it to set my Bourjois Shimmer Shine cream eyeshadow in beige metallique. Very pigmented, I like it.

As I said before, I picked this up solely because it was on sale ($4 as opposed to $10). It's a clear primer that aims to hide/minimize pores and grant the look of soft baby skin. I haven't used this on my entire face yet, just on my cheeks and on the sides/around my nose. I don't really know if it's helping my makeup stay on properly but I guess I'll test it out some more.

I swear, this mascara is super hyped up. I watch a ton of beauty gurus on youtube and all of them (especially my favourite, Ingrid/MissGlamorazzi) swears by it. When I saw this on sale, I figured there must be some proof behind the hype!!

Kinda disapointed when I saw the brush. I was kinda expecting something with longer bristles at least? I guess in my mind, I was expecting it to be like the Benefit They're Real mascara. I got the waterproof formula which I never really buy since it's such a hastle to take off!

I'm not sure if it's because I have straight asian eyelashes or if the formula is too wet, but it doesn't work as well on me as it does on others I guess. Didn't really hold curl, made my lashes a little longer but nothing amazing. Oh well, just gonna use this up and then go back to Benefit or L'Oreal!

Glad I didn't end up spending a ton of money on this - this haul is an alright sacrifice for $10. At least the eyeshadow is nice!

Have you tried any of these? Do they work on you?
Any recommendations for other mascaras/primers would be appreciated as well!

room tour 2014

Heyo lovelies!!

It's that time of year again! Time to start school / move into student housing for the year, yay. This year I'm renting off campus, just like I did in second year. Of course, I have to do a bedroom tour. I love looking back on these types of posts!

First year bedroom
Second year bedroom
Third year (kinda?) Not rly much of a tour tho

And now for my fourth year!!

I'm sharing this place with 2 other people! One of my flatmates is a friend from high school who I lived with in second year. The other person is a graduate student from India! Unfortunately, I'm in a basement unit. I don't mind it too much, didn't really have much choice because I was in the UK when renting season was going on. I had to send my flatmate from second year to look at houses to rent!!

Here's the view from the door! I kinda wish we had bigger windows haha... I was spoiled with massive windows + second floor room in second year, too bad we couldn't rent that house again! :(
The random blinds on the side aren't for the windows, they actually hide a fuse box haha... At least it doesn't look too bad!
Trusty wooden ikea desk!! My mom gave me her old cosmetics case so now I have a big one to put all of my stuff in! Ahh makeup, so much fun!! My collection has grown quite a bit because makeup seems to be a default gift for me ;v; All of my regular clothes are in the plastic drawers!

Desk! With my lil laptop, tablet (Wacom Cintiq ahhh), microphone and MENMA FIGURE! MENNNMMMAAAAAAAAAAA

Lil futon! Downgraded to a single bed again after having a double at home/in Leeds haha. Its a bit weird facing the back wall but I'd rather not have a fuse box right above my head!

View from the other end of the room! I have my little shelf with all of my figures, plushes, ukelele, cleaning stuff, toilet paper etc! Closet is full of random fall clothes and bags that I have take back home.My mirror is where I do all of my outfit snaps too!

As a bonus, here are two of my recent outfit snaps. Getting more into it I guess? I'm trying to become more stylish I suppose, girls here don't really put as much effort into their looks as the girls in the UK. I want to make being trendy into a habit so I always look cool 8)

  top - topshop // jeans - primark // shoes - talbots // backpack - cargo

Top: lord & taylor // Shirt: new look // Jeans: topshop // Shoes: talbots

Annnnnd to end this post, here's a song I've been listening to non-stop recently! My flatmate really got me into Arctic Monkeys recently, totally digging them. Super chill beats.

Heya lovelies! It's been a while!

Really liked my outfit today and decided that I needed to get my butt in gear and take a few outfit photos! I've really been into fashion blogs/youtubers recently, and I've been working on my sense of style! I think it has really improved these past few months haha.

The Bay had a Cyber Monday flash sale on their website which included topshop, so I jumped on it super quick and picked up a few things! I got 2 pairs of jeans and a new pair of shoes, all -40% off their original price! Super lucky for me haha. My wardrobe is slowly transitioning to majority Topshop......which I'm totally fine with. They make 36" length jeans which fit me perfectly! I can get away with 34" if they're low rise but it's nice to finally find high rise ones that fit.

Glasses: eBay
Coat: Topshop
Shirt: Forever21
Jeans: Topshop (Jamie Moto fit, ripped at the knees)
Boots: Topshop

THESE BOOTS THOUGH, AHHHHH I love them! They've got a shiny gold tip, heel, and a thick gold chain across the back. Classy but edgy, yea yea yea. I also like the low heel, doesn't give me any extra height!! :D

So Sachoooo what's been up with you this past month?
Nothing much, thanks for asking (hahahaaaa) Started classes again. They're alright, but I think I've got senioritis now that I'm in my final year of university. I just want to get out into the real world already since classes just seem tedious, even though everyone tells me that the real world is much more difficult and uni was easy etc etc etc. I'm just so done with essays though.... :(

But basically I'm going to use my last 6 months of university to kick my youtube and blog into HIGH GEAR. I want to grow! I want to make something out of this! I want to see if I can make it into a job for myself! So expect a lot more content :D But let me know...

What kind of content do you want to see?
For both my blog and youtube!! Comment below at let me know! :D

Other than that, social life has been ok, pretty sure I've scared off any possibility of senpai noticing me, but at least my fashion sense is pretty good. I guess Instagram #ootd has helped out!!

Watch: Fossil
Ring: found in some vintage shop! It's got a really pretty blue stone in it though.
Nail polish is some silver one from Revlon!

Other than that.... I've pretty much been downtown Toronto every weekend. I've been cursed with wanderlust after my exchange and I don't feel satisfied sitting at home. Downtown is the most exciting place I have access to at the moment so I guess I'll be exploring more.

I also really want to do more food blogs! :D So I hope you guys are prepared.

How have you all been recently? <3

[review] GEO Puffy 3-Tone Green / Peroxi Clear Solution

$

Heya lovelies!

Here's a review for you guys! I recently went and tossed out over half of my circle lens collection because they were approaching their expiry dates! I usually keep lenses for 6-8 months before replacing them. I have a few pairs that I wear quite regularly because I like how they look and wear them often in videos.

The GEO Shinny (now known as Puffy 3-Tone) are my favourite style of circle lenses. I've tried out the pink, blue, and grey colours and I love how they look! (I've gone through 3 pairs of pink, and one of grey / blue). I had to throw out my recent pair of pink and my grey ones were tearing at the side so I decided to try out a new colour! I'll be cosplaying Sailor Jupiter and Noire from Fire Emblem soon so that means...green eyes! I hardly ever wear green lenses because I didn't think it suited me, but I really like how these look on me! :0

I bought these from LoveShoppingholics ($23.90 USD)! I've checked on a few sites and most major ones (Candylens, PinkyParadise) sell them. They all generally go for the same price.

My lenses were packaged in a bubblewrap mailer. Everything came contained in a cute plastic bag. This included: pouch with lenses/lens case, a thank you letter, and two freebies! Hair velcros (great for holding bangs/hair out of face while doing makeup), and a collagen eye mask.

Lens bottles and a cute hippo lens case! These lenses are cute, but over years of using them I've found that they tend to loosen up and leak quite easily. If you go to a lot of cons/travel with lenses often, I'd recommend to invest in a different case that closes tightly! I tried out a cool new type of lens case which I'll review later in this post! :D

I wear plano which are just the clear 0.00 degree lenses!

Here's what the lenses look like! These lenses are on the larger side. They are 15mm lenses, and feature 3 different tones - a dark outer green ring, a jade green middle, and a light green/yellow centre.
This is how the lenses appear on my eyes, which are a medium-light brown. The lenses do a great job of covering up your natural eye colour! I also like how the outer ring isn't a solid black, so they look natural but allow you to achieve superkawaii massive shoujo manga eyes at the same time! :D

Here's a comparison shot!! The first picture shows one lens in and one without - as you can see, they are very enlarging! They are also quite bright as these were shot in regular indoor lighting,

Here's what the lenses are like with makeup on! Should have tightlined....orz!! I'm thinking of making another eye makeup tutorial because my last one seemed quite popular! Check out my last tutorial for eyebrows + eye enlarging makeup!

All in all, I love these lenses! I'll probably be ordering the brown and violet ones soon. :D I'll do another review soon!

I also ran out of lens solution, so I stopped off at Loblaws I mean Great Canadian Superstore and was going to pick up the usual Bausch+Lomb ReNu lens solution...but this one was on sale! Hooray for introductory offers! I love trying out new products so I figured why not. (It was also like $10 cheaper than the ReNu kit so my wallet won out haha!!)

So this new lens solution claims to be a new revolutionary type of lens cleaning solution + disinfectant that will fully clean your lenses in 4 hours. The solution foams up and apparently the bubbles are supposed to help to fully eliminate germs. Sounds promising! It also came with this weird basket type contact case which I've never seen before?

Basically you unscrew the "basket" and full the container up to a line with lens solution. You open the basket compartment and put the lens inside and close the lids. Then you reinsert it into the container. In order to take the lenses out, you take out the basket and the lens will stick to the top of the lid for easier removal! :D I really like this because it saves having to claw around for the lens (getting dirt in the solution, potentially tearing lens, dropping lens etc.) I'm thinking of buying more of these and replacing all of my cases haha.

Would you like to see more reviews of lenses or certain products? Let me know! :D

[review] Ipsy - November 2014

$
0
0
Hello lovelies!

I'm back on the beauty subscription train! I used to have an ipsy subscription back when it was MyGlam but then cancelled it after the products got boring. I can't remember what was being offered, but something a few months ago caught my eye and I reactivated my subscription! It's been worth it because every month I've received something awesome! :D

I'll try doing monthly reviews of these bags again to get back into frequent posting so I hope you guys are looking forward to more beauty posts!

This month's theme was "Girl Meets Glitter", although I didn't really receive any glittery products lol! The eyeliner is kinda metallic? If anything the makeup bag is glittery, but I don't really use the makeup bags anyway....

Anyway, here's what I received this month! I really like this month's bag because I've used everything so far! :D

 The items I received:

Marc Anthony Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray
IT Cosmetics - Bye Bye Under Eye in Medium Neutral
SeaRx Skincare Lotion
J.Cat Wonder Lip Paint in Mad Splatter
Gem Eye Pencil in Ultra Olive

Starting off with the hairspray! I don't really use much hairspray in general because I have very thick hair and I usually use hair oil to smooth down my hair. I do use hairspray on my wigs though to keep them in place when I'm cosplaying! The travel size is great because it will come in handy at cons. :D

The body lotion is in a tiny tube and has a creamy citrus smell! I really like it. There is such a small amount in the tube so I haven't really been able to see any difference in my skin.

The gem eye pencil - I have soooo many eyeliner pencils (hoarding freebies lol) , so it's nice to finally have one in a different colour! This is an olive colour however it's more on the brown/gold side than green. It's a lovely colour for fall. It's also very soft and pigmented which is lovely because I've used a ton of different pencils and sometimes the coloured ones can be quite hard and difficult to draw with.

Here are some swatches! Some subtle glitter, nothing too crazy. Appears to be almost brown in most lighting I think, so it'll definitely work well with other eyeshadow colours!

Next - J.Cat Wonder Lip paint! It comes in a small tube. I've read that these are dupes/ are comparable to the OCC lip tars, but I've never tried them before so I can't say if that's true or not! I got the shade 'Mad Splatter' which is a rosy pinky colour. I tend to veer more towards red/orange based lip products because pinks can sometimes look weird on my skin tone (esp if they're blue-based), but this one works nicely!

It's got a hint of glitter in it! Very tiny glitter bits though, nothing super noticeable!!

I like to apply this by taking a little bit and patting it on my lips with my fingers. I like more of a faded/gradient look. This can be layered up though if you'd like a bolder lip / brighter colour!

Aaaand finally, the ~big~ special item in this month's ipsy bag! This is the IT Cosmetics concealer which is supposed to be a ~cult classic~. (I've never heard of the brand before though haha.) It's a very thick concealer though, and comes in this tiiiiiny tube! (SD card for comparison!)

I have craaaazy under eye circles (staying up and either watching youtube videos or crunchyroll into the wee hours of the night lol), so I was looking for a new concealer! I really like this concealer, it does a great job of masking my eyebags! It's super pigmented and you only need the tiniest amount because a little goes a long way!

I received it in the 'neutral medium' shade and I was a bit worried because my skin is quite pale and I usually have to have either the lightest or 2nd lightest shade for most brands that I've tried. It matches my skin nicely though. I'll finish the rest of this tube and decide whether I want to invest in the full sized product!

Hope this was helpful! If you're interested in signing up and trying out these products then you can check it out here! :D

Are there any products you're curious about/ want to try out?

Day Trippin' Downtown

$

Hello lovelies!

This past weekend, my mom and I went downtown for a little day trip! I'm always downtown these days because I get bored of living in the burbs and downtown is only a subway trip away. She hasn't been down there for a while so it was nice to spend time on her in between final projects and work.

Starting the trip by getting off at Spadina station, took the street car to Chinatown just by Kensington market.
Stopped off at the Hong Kong Island bakery for some bunz. It was around lunch time so we stopped off for a quick snack.

Egg tarts and honey glazed meat bun? I'm not really sure what was in this haha my mom just ordered it for me and told me to eat it, so I did. :D

Flaky flaky, nomnomnom. I love me some chinese bakery buns~ Kinda off topic (but not really), I've really been getting in to The Great British Bakeoff! I watched an episode on the flight to Anime Expo over the summer and for some reason decided to continue where I left off! Currently watching season 4 but I'll get to the other seasons soon enough.

Heading down Spadina. It's getting cold and grey again! I feel like we jumped over autumn because now the weather only gets to a high of 2C and there are occasional flurries...

I always pass by this ramen place but I've never eaten inside! Such a cute mascot character. I'll have to try it out one day.

Traditional chinese herb shop. Brings back bad memories of my mom making weird chinese medicines for when I was sick. They tasted disgusting :(

Detoured to some random wholesale clothing stores. I REALLY REGRET NOT BUYING THAT HAT, it was realllllyyy soft and warm, only $5! I have a massive head though so it would look pretty ridiculous if I wore it on a regular basis. #kawaiilife

Also found some super swaggy sunglasses! The sides were really shiny and had a weird pattern, otherwise I would've bought them haha.

Oh Torontonian hipsters....

Headed down Queen street towards Eatons...

Wearing my Topshop jacket and jeans (Moto jean in tall fit), Talbot boots

Sporting my new Fjallraven Kanken backpack in Fog! My Swiss Army backpack finally died after 5 years of hardcore usage so I decided to downsize to something a little more compact. It's a lovely little backpack, the handles are convenient and the logo is really cute! It also doubles as a reflector.

Osgood Hall looks so different in the Hall! It feels like only yesterday when I shot my Kagome cosplay photos with MizunoCosplay, it was very warm, bright, and green!! Dang it winter!! :<

The Bay has set up its Christmas displays in the windows! They are very cute and feature winter scenes along with 'The Night Before Christmas' story. I took a bunch of pictures of the displays in this Christmas blogpost from 2012!

Excuse the blurry photo but I GOT REALLY EXCITED, Muji is opening up near Eatons centre! :D I loved shopping at Muji when I was in the UK, I got my daily planner as well as some candles, gloves, other small essentials from there! It's near Yonge/Dundas Square, right across from the H&M!

Fiiiinally, Christmas decorations are set up in Eatons Centre! I love it when malls start setting up their winter decorations, the festive mood really brightens me up. There are large reindeer statues placed throughout the mall!

Stopped off at Topshop to look at dresses! A family friend's daughter is getting married at the end of the month and I need to find a nice dress for the wedding. The one on the left is a very sparkly body con dress, and the one on the right is a medium-blue velvet dress with a high collar and side cutouts.

We walked around for a bit before taking the subway back home. It was a fun day hanging out with mama! :D

Which on dress you like better? I've never really worn bodycon dresses so they make me feel a bit self conscious haha.... I like the style of the velvet one because it's different but I would have liked it more if it came in dark red or something!!

Let me know!

what's in my makeup bag?

$

hiyaaa lovelieeesssss

People often ask me on instagram/tumblr about what makeup products I'm currently using! Whenever I find a look that I like, I wear it nonstop for maybe a month or so! I recently threw out at least a quarter of my makeup because it was old. almost finished, or never used. No point in letting makeup sit there if it's just going to fester bacteria! D:

I've really been looking after my skin recently, so I've invested some well known brands! I definitely recommend all of these if you want to shell out a few extra dollars. Here are a few products that I've been loving recently.

My little quilted makeup bag! Same one that I used in my last "what's in my makeup bag" post. Now that I look back at that post, it was almost exactly one year ago!

For my birthday, my friend Mika bought me this Kat Von D Lock It Powder Foundation in Light 2! I was looking for a powder foundation opposed to liquid foundation so I could have something quick to apply but still give good coverage. She works at a Sephora and recommended it because it was her favourite powder!! Pretty packaging :D Reminds me of the Kiss Me Heroine powder compact that I used back in high school!

It's a very finely milled powder with pretty good coverage! I have combination skin that gets pretty oily in my t-zone so this helps to control that. It's great for the days when I wake up late, covers the redness on my face pretty well. Comes with a soft squishy sponge!!

Milani blush in Rose D'oro - applies fairly sheer with a fine gold shimmer, very pigmented and buildable so you don't need a lot! I used it quite often over the summer and it hasn't gone down at all!! Also loving this make up forever mini lipstick (came in the Sephora free birthday gift this year).

Lovely red/brown toned lipstick, I think it really suits my skin tone! It's only a tiny size which is great to pop in my handbag/ carry with me. I'm thinking of looking into the full size version once I finish the mini one, I'm in love with the colour.

Bought the Naked Basics palette because I'm a total sheep and love following hype trains hahaaaaa.... One of my friends bought it and kept talking about it and made the mistake of letting me use it because I fell in love and couldn't stop thinking about it for the following two weeks lol. It's mostly neutral matte shades and I love them, super versatile and has all the colours I need!

Mini makeup forever mascara that came in the Sephora birthday gift with the lipstick. It's pretty meh, doesn't really do much for me. Slightly extends my upper lashes but does nothing for my non-existent lower lashes. And finallllyy the It Cosmetics bye bye undereye concealer which I reviewed here, total godsend product!!

But yeaaa that's what I'm mainly using at the moment!! What are you using at the moment? Recommendations are always welcome!

The Sachrifice (AKA The Thesis that Consumed My Life For The Past 6 Months)

Heya lovelies.

I'VE BEEN GONE SINCE NOVEMBER?? How have I not blogged since then? ;_; I think this is the longest period I've gone without updating. I've always been slow since I started focusing more on my youtube, but these past few months have killed me. So finally, it's time for an update post!

(Two characters I drew for our thesis project! The name of our brand is Heroes of Tomorrow)

As you guys may or may not know, I'm currently finishing up my final year of my undergraduate degree. I'm studying Honours Communications and Multimedia - a double major for topics such as PR, research, writing, marketing etc, as well as a more technical aspect for audio, video, and graphic design. Because I'm doing a double major, I had to do 2 final thesis projects. My multimedia thesis project was much more intensive, whereas my communications thesis has to be a 14-16 page paper (which is due on Monday/ I haven't started yet gdi ;_;)

It's pretty sad to say, but I feel like I've coasted through my first three years of university and karma caught up with me and decided to give me an intense butt-kicking this year. I'm sure most 4th years understand this, as we've got to worry about tuition, final cumulative thesis projects, as well as graduating on time and then finding a job afterwards. Why does everything always come in waves. WHY LIFE WHY.

Today I though I'd blog about my multimedia thesis project so you can see what's been sapping my life force for these past few months. The condensed version is that we had to propose a project that would showcase the skills that we have developed, in addition to creating a portfolio piece that we would be able to show future employers. I originally wanted to do something with my youtube account and branding but I seriously hadn't developed an action plan, so I ended up doing an educational design project with a partner. This class spanned from October to March, and included doing research, literature reviews, preliminary work, proposal presentations, professor consultations, and then a final presentation.

STRESSFUL. Our project included graphic design, illustration, marketing, branding, packaging design, and printing. We took on a lot more than some other people in my class haha, a little over ambitious I guess but it paid off in the end.

Anyway, we decided to make an environmental activity kit for students in grade 4-6. It would be a kit that teachers would use in classrooms. Our kit included a student activity booklet, a black and white version of the same booklet (so teachers can photocopy/print activities to distribute), and a teacher's handbook explaining the curriculum. Here are some pages.

In addition to doing these information/experiment pages, I remade the entire book in black and white! The entire project was made on Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. I learned a lot about Illustrator while working on this project which was cool, since my program didn't really teach us how to use many of the programs lol.

It was such a relief to finally present and have all those months of work be overrrrr SO SATISFYING.

But yeah! It's been a super fast 4 years, kinda scary to think about how fast time flies. Everyone keeps telling me "Make sure to savour your time at university because the real world is much more intense" etc etc etc. I'm excited to get out in the real world and gain some experience, and maybe I'll return to post-graduate education in the future! Right now I just want a break from school instead of going straight into a masters or postgrad certificate/program etc.

Now that I have a little bit of free time, I'll be updating my blog/youtube more often. It's my dream to make this into a full time thing, but school has stolen some of my time. Can't wait to continue blogging!!

Thank you for reading! :D

OOTD Adore Me!

Heya lovelies!

A little while ago, Adore Me sent me and email and asked me if I'd like to do a little haul with them! Although they sent these to me, all opinions are my own! :D

Lingerie was always a bit of a weird topic for me, since I've never really spoken much about undies or loungewear on my blog or youtube and although my audience is mostly female, I've got a male audience that sometimes gets weirded out lol. I'm a big fan of lingerie and pretty nightwear, or just pretty clothes in general! Wearing pretty undies (especially when they match) is a total confidence booster! :D

Anyway yes, getting back to the topic. Adore Me is a super cute lingerie website that has a wide selection of styles and fits, with collections ranging from swimwear, lingerie, corsets, and nightwear! I chose two items - a bra/pantsu set and a nightdress/romper thing.

I thought it would be fun to put the first together in a little OOTD! I wore this on Friday :D

shoes: TOPSHOP | sweater: OLD NAVY | bra/panties: ADORE ME* | leggings: ZARA

The sweater is actually from my friend mle, we did a little clothing swap the last time we met up and it's really cozy and oversized! I've been wearing my Zara leggings/ topshop shoes quite often now because they're very ~effortlessly chic~, I love the combination of black and gold.

It's a nice pop of color under all that black and grey, hehe. The Summer Bra is a pushup bra that's adorned with some pretty lace. It's a bright coral color, perfect for summer! The undies are also very lacy - this is their 'hipster' style, so it has a bit more bum coverage~

romper: Adore Me*

Next up is this romper! I'm always a bit skeptical when I have to order rompers/dresses online, just because I'm a bout 5'10 and have a really long torso. I was afraid the M wasn't going to fit me, but it does! It's a very soft, stretchy material. Pretty sexy and very comfortable to sleep in! :D

Pretty flowery lace on the torso area!! There's something very sensual and mysterious about black lace, because you can see just enough but still hide away ;)

What are your thoughts on these styles? I really like them - the color of the bra is really nice and not something that I would usually go for, but it's a nice change for summer! And the romper is super comfortable!

You can find them here:
They also have a promotion going on where you can join their monthly VIP membership and get your first set for $24.95 - just click here~ They update new collections and styles every month so there's always new collections.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy these fashion posts! Please look forward to more in the future :D

What's in my makeup bag?

Hey guys! Thought I'd do another makeup bag to show you what I've been using in my daily routine. (I know, I did one of these in November, but I love doing them! :D) I think I'll do a proper what's in my purse post+video soon!

This is my current makeup bag! I got it from Sephora over the summer I think, they were doing some promotion for sample sized products and they all came in this lovely little red pouch! It's medium sized and fits everything, even though it does look like it's bulging out hehe.

Here are all of the products that I've been using in my every day makeup lately! I don't always use everything, sometimes I just use concealer and power and mascara and I'm out!!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind dark spot concealer treatment / ItCosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye waterproof concealer in neutral medium / Kat Von D Lock-It Powder Foundation in Light 45 / Smashbox 24 Hour Eye Shadow Primer / Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in 21 Light Beige

Face / base products! I'm still quite pale at the moment because winter only ended here in Toronto quite recently... Although it's getting much warmer now (in the 20s!) so hopefully I'll be able to see some sun soon! The second concealer and the smashbox eye shadow primer are sample size, easier to transport in my makeup bag!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector / NYC Bronzer in Sunny / Hikari blush in Tango

Color and cheek products - Becca highlighter for a nice subtle shimmer, NYC Sunny for contouring (it shattered so I have to find another one, but it seems to be sold out everywhere I go!) and a Hikari blush I received in my ipsy bag! It's a pretty matte pinky coral.

Rimmel eye lash curler / Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner pen / L'Oreal Telescopic liquid eyeliner / Maybelline Rocket mascara / Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes eyeshadow quad / Milani Easybrow eyebrow pencil in natural taupe / Maybelline Great Last clear mascara

Fairly standard eye products - nothing that hasn't been featured before haha. Resorting back to my faves. I like a fairly neutral eye with some subtle shimmer, and I've been using a lighter coloured eyebrow pencil to fill in my eyebrows! I found that filling them in with a pencil that matches my hair colour (dark brown) made my face look really intense, since I'm still got my winter paleness! D:

Malin+Goetz Mojito Lip Balm, Dior Addict Extreme lipstick in Riviera
If you're looking for a new lip balm, I hiiiighly recommend the malin+goetz mojito one! I originally got a sample in an ipsy bag and totally fell in love. It moisturises and rejuvenates your lips and makes them look really full and nice! The smell is really nice too!

What's in your current makeup bag? :)

Tarte Goodies

Hello lovelies!

Little makeup update for you. I got these tarte goodies in a recent Sephora order with a friend! Here's a tip: if you ever want to order something from Sephora, do it with a friend! Free tracked shipping over $75, and you get a ton of site-exclusive samples that aren't offered in store. My friend isn't a frequent makeup buyer so her purchase added to my Beauty Insider points :D

Anyway, sad news was last week, my second Kat Von D powder compact (still a baby - new and only a few weeks old) did a suicide jump from my purse one night after getting a ride back home in the evening. It was dark, I was searching around my bag for my keys, and suddenly my purse flipped upside down and the compact fell. Popped clean out of the pan and shattered all over the concrete porch. SUCH A SAD DAY. To top it off, it rained really hard the next day and washed everything away. $50 literally down the drain. :(((((

Anyway, summer is coming up and I thought it might be the time to switch to something a little bit lighter! The day after "the shattering', my friend and I placed an order for some new makeup goodies. I have combination type skin and after a little bit of research, found out that Tarte's Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Powder Foundation was a recommended choice by bloggers and beauty gurus alike. It claims to have medium to full coverage, sits lightly on the skin but lasts for a long time, and its mineral properties are better for the skin. Sounds good to me, especially since the Kat Von D powder (which I briefly reviewed here) was more on the heavier side.

I'm in love with Tarte's packaging! I love the whole bamboo look, very sleek and pretty! The makeup itself encased under a mesh stocking cover to prevent spillage, which is great because I have a tendency to use way too much powder and cake my face up. It also has a plastic stopper built into the lid that presses down on the mesh when you close it, making sure that no powder flies out or moves around.

I use the shade 'fair honey', which is suited for fair skin with peach undertones. I debated between this shade and the second lightest shade, but this one suited my perfectly. The powder comes with it's own brush but I didn't feel like spending an extra $34 on it when I have a little stash of Real Technique brushes at home.

I really like this powder - it suits my skin very nicely and it builds up to have a very flawless finish without caking up or feeling heavy. I've been using it every day for the past week or so and it wears very well. My face tends to get oily after a while but this powder kept my face under control! It's a bit on the pricey side ($44, which is about the same as what I paid for the Kat Von D powder and that was totally worth it.)

The other thing I picked up was the Tarte Rainforest After Dark palette! I tried looking for the link on Sephora but it seems to have been taken offline ("out of stock") since it was limited edition...which leads me to wonder if I ordered the last one? WOO YAY! :D

Tarte does it again with their gorgeous packaging! This one features a wood base design with a foil gold snake. The snake has a little purple gem on its head...very pretty.

Let me just say that my attempts at color correcting were not that great. Should have taken photos against a white backround but I thought the grass was a nice touch at the time. For more accurate palette color, reference the Tarte website.

I ordered this as a little graduation gift for myself! After seeing it in stores but never buying it due to it constantly being out of stock, I finally gave in and ordered it online! I bought this palette for several reasons -

  1. It has a really nice selection of colours - some mattes and some shimmers.
  2. It's a 4 in one product - eyeshadows, highlighter, bronzer, and blush,
  3. It's easy and compact to travel with, which is great for vacations or conventions because less makeup to carry around.
  4. It has a really big and convenient mirror!

I was kind of fed up carrying so many separate bulky products when I went to conventions. Unfortunately some of my nice makeup (and an iPhone cable) went missing when I stayed in my hotel at Anime North ( >_>), so I figured the less bits and bobs to keep track of, the better. This palette has colors that I love using, and can create a wide variety of looks.

SO PRETTTYYYYY

Pink toned colors. Features a satin champagne highligter, a matte pink toned beige, a satiny mauve, and a satiny plum/ dark purple shade, Unleashed is a dusty nude rose which I was unsure about at first, but fell in love with upon application.

The other side of the palette features warm brown colors: a gold shimmer, a matte brown, a cool toned 'espresso' brown shade, and a bronzer which is very similar to the NYC sunny bronzer that I've used forever.

Absolutely in love with this palette, definitely one of my favourites and I'm glad I got it before it ran out of stock! You can still order it from the Tarte website!

What do you think about this palette? Do you own any Tarte products? Are there any you would like to try out? Let me know in the comments below!

Paris (1 Year Later)

Heya lovelies! I found one of my old portable hard drives stuck behind my desk the other day! I had been looking for this hard drive for the past few months and it was wedged behind the back board of my desk and the back wall! I found a lot of old photos and videos that I had been meaning to upload but couldn't.

So, here I am, blogging about Paris, one year later. Better late than never, right...?

Luckily I remember the trip quite vividly, and recorded my daily activities/thoughts in my 2014 Muji planner. I went on a spontaneous Paris bus trip with my school friends whilst I was on my 3rd year university exchange last year, between June 7-12, 2014. I had just returned from Portugal on June 5th and decided I needed to do some more travelling before flying back to Canada on the 22nd.

Took a 4 hour megabus trip from Leeds to London. Stopped off at Victoria Station for about three hours, grabbed some food at Wetherspoons, and did some people watching. ALMOST MISSED OUR BUS TO PARIS,

Basically, we didn't realize that we were supposed to get customs clearance (since we are internationals and all), and arrive at least half an hour before our trip. Instead, we showed up 10 minutes before thinking everything was alright, got told off by the bus driver for not having our immigration forms, had a mad panic and dashed to the megabus customs office, got our forms, and got on the bus minutes before departure. PHEWWWW it's not a proper trip unless something unexpected happens!

Day 1

Took a 17 hour Megabus trip to Paris! Bus - ferry - bus. Not very pleasant and we were all super tired. Arrived in Paris at about 5AM and took the subway to our stop. We stayed at the Hotel de la Pointe Rivoli. They put us on the top floor (about 7 or 8 floors up), there are no elevators, just a twisty steep stairwell. LEGS DEFINITELY GOT A WORKOUT THAT WEEKEND.

The hotel was located in the Marais district, and is right outside Saint Paul station. Super easy to commute everywhere!
We couldn't check into the hotel because it was much too early, so we wandered to a nearby park and picked up some delicious pastries for brekkerz.

We found our way to the Place des Vosges. Why are French parks so beautiful? I hate getting up early but I wouldn't mind if it meant I could sit in a park like this while morning breaks.

"Do not feed the shadows."

"I'm waiting for you, find me."
French grafitti is so deep. Bruh.

The 5 of us grabbed coffee at the cafe next to our hotel - L'Elephant du Nil.

Checked into our hotel, unpacked a bit, and decided to head off to a famous nearby attraction... Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris

The girls I was travelling with (friends of one of my exchange friends) wanted to attend a service? at Notre Dame, so we did! I'm not religious at all and had no idea what was going on, but it was beautiful none the less.

After, we roamed the streets and ate some gelato by the Seine because it was suuuuper hot and we were tired from travelling.

Dinner - can't remember where this was, but I remember the potato salad was reaaaalllyyy good, and the drink (Cosmo? I'm assuming that's what it was since it's ~my drink~, thanks SITC) tasted like pure vodka lol....

Feeling a bit buzzed, we walked down the street to the Centre Pompidou. The whole surrounding area was very familiar to me because I went on a family vacation to Paris in 2010 and we stayed right by Reamur-Sebastapol subway station, which was a short distance away. Buzzy from our drinks, we managed to bypass security (probably thought "stupid drunk tourists) and got to the roof. Spectacular views.

Obligatory city hall JOJO

I also remember that there was a crazy storm this night. After we returned back to our hotel, it got super rainy and stormy - thunder and lightning that shook the hotel, and the loud patter of rain against the metal roof. I actually felt terrified. I was sleeping on the floor and could feel the building move and I thought it was going to fall over.

Day 2

The next day - we decided to head down to the Latin quarter and go shopping! Found one of my favourite shops in a vintage thrift shop for €5. WHATASTEAL. Also sporting some super swaggy chain glasses as a street vendor's stall.

Stumbled upon the Fontaine des Innocents. It was so humid that day! We took it quite easy that day, just moseying around and checking out shops, taking photos, etc.

French architecture is beautiful.

Day 3

Day 3 was super touristy day! Took the subway to an art museum/gallery known as Le Petit Palais.

It started raining again so we wandered around until it cleared up. Then, we headed down the street to the Champs-Élysées!

Cardigan - Primark // Tshirt - H&M // Belt - Primark // Skirt - Vinage thrift store // Bag - Forever21

We didn't actually go up to it because they were doing construction and it was super crowded, so we headed down the subway and got off at Trocadéro. If you want to best view of the Eiffel tower, go here!

It's an open plaza area that you can walk in and get beautiful photos! We stopped off at Monoprix and grabbed some wine, prosciutto, cheese, and baguettes for dinner on the lawns outside the Eiffel tower.

We walked over to the Eiffel Tower park and ate dinner. It was lovely. By the time we finished, it was about sunset.

We bought evening stair tickets. Legs definitely got a workout walking up all of those stairs! We walked to the second platform. We even got to catch the light show, when the Eiffel tower starts flickering!

Gorgeous view from the top. The area between the two lights is Trocadero!

Day 4

Last full day in Paris. Checked out of the Hotel and decided to head on over to the Louvre! Looking back at these photos...I miss my old long hair! But not really because it was a pain in the butt to manage.

Had lunch at the cafe next door, L'Elephant du Nil.

 Fresh tomato soup with croutons...
And a crisp and creamy crème brûlée. So good! Sometimes I have dreams about eating it again, that's how great it was. French people have definitely won the food lottery!

Took the Subay to Louvre-Rivoli.

Arrived at the Louvre and decided to take as many stupid pictures as I possibly could. Got mad judged for jojoing.

Instead of taking photos of the Mona Lisa, I decided to give her the QUEEN SOME RESPECT, YAS
(Referencing this btw)

Found a sleeping guy, so naturally we had to take photos with him.

Top: PMall // Shorts - Primark // Bag - Forever 21 // Belt // Primark

Bought an apricot pasty at theMiss Manon Boulangerie before leaving. During our stay in Paris, we frequently visited the bakery to pick up breakfast / dessert. Super tasty!

After our Louvre visit, we went back to our hotel, picked up our luggage, and took the Megabus back home at 10:30PM. Another super long trip back, arrived back in London at about 7:30AM. Sat in McDonald's sapping their wifi for a few hours whilst waiting for my bus back to Leeds.

I had a lovely time in Paris and can't wait to go back! I think next time, I would like to visit a different part of France. The architecture and scenery is all so beautiful...and the food!

Have you ever visited Paris? Are there any Parisian monuments or sights you'd like to visit? What do you think of french cuisine?

[REVIEW] Petite Cherry Lingerie

$

Hello lovelies!

A while ago, Petite Cherry (formerly Kaur's Laurel) contacted me about reviewing some of  their new pieces from their store! Petite Cherry is a cute lingerie store inspired by Asian fashion! I believe they are also operated by the same company that runs Eyecandys Circle Lenses.

I have to sets for review today. I was sent  two pairs, and the reviews are my 100% honest opinion,

Let me first state that this store is targeted towards petite body sizes, which I unfortunately do not fall under. (I wish I had known that before they rebranded lol) I have a tall/lean body shape. My bra size is 34D by most western sizes (based on LaSenza since that's where I get most of mine from.) I've had a few issues with buying lingerie sets from Asian stores as sizing always  seems to fit a bit smaller. Unfortunately, this was the case with Petite Cherry :

Before shopping from Petite Cherry, I would do research into their sizing. If you've got bigger boobs, you might have some issues. The website only offers up to 34D, but I would say that the 34D is not true to size. Better luck if you're C or smaller. The matching panties come in only one size, which is "one size fits all" small - medium. Also, I'd recommend going a size up in their sizing.

Fortunately, if the sizing is off, you can request a return or exchange! Their exchange/return policy can be found here.

Coco Push Up Demi Bra Set - $32.45

This is a beautiful deep cherry-red push up bra set. It features a sheer back, and sheer front adorned with more floral red lace. Very cute and very flattering! I'm in love with the color and design. Super sexy.

It's got a half pushup, great if you're looking for a little more oomph! The support is firm and the lace along the top of the cup is quite alluring.

Don't worry about the little cut on the side of the left cup, that's one that I made to see if the foam insert is removable (it is not.) I got this set in a 36C, I remember reading somewhere that you can go up a size in the band and lower a size in the cup and it'll fit the same. (34D = 36C) etc. Didn't really work out in this case - the band fit well bit the cups were a little small. Probably because of the pushup.

Gorgeous lace detailing! Although I thik I'm going to cut out the white tag because it's not very flattering when you've got a sheer butt lol...

Nicole Strappy Push-Up Bustier-Style Bra Set (Pink) - $36.99

Super cute set! I love this design because it's so different. The bra design is normal in the front, with black elastic shoulder straps that extend across the front and elastics at the back! The panties are pink in the front with elastic straps that extend to a sheer black back.

I love the lace design on this! I got this set in the 34D size and it fit better than the red set, but still not a true 34D. The cups fit a bit small and the elastic straps were a bit tight, so I might go get a bra clip extender or something because I really do like this set! The sizing recommends to go a size up, but you can't really do that if you're the biggest size haha. The lace detailing and the little gold clip at the front of the bra is super cute.

Overall, I really do like these sets. The quality is great, the bras themselves are super comfortable and the designs are really cute. The website has a large selection of designs and styles to choose from. Keep in mind that this site is targeted towards petite body sizes when ordering, and follow the sizing directions!

Communication with the team was great, and the parcel arrived quickly in a box.

The price is also quite good compared to other mainstream lingerie stores, with a larger and more unique selection of styles!

Which set is your favourite? Do you like the designs offered on their website? Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Day at the ROM

Hello lovelies!

Popped by the Royal Ontario Museum today! Students get free admission on Tuesdays so we went to check out the exhibits. Especially wanted to see the dinos after seeing Jurassic World, haha!!

Brought my 50mm lens to test out, still getting used to fixed lenses since I've only really used an 18-55mm.

The ROM is pretty cool, I'd definitely recommend going if you're a student with a valid Ontario student card! Although it doesn't seem as exciting now that I've been to the Natural History Museum in London haha.

dress: topshop // shoes: primark

I didn't realize HOW PALE I LOOKED UNTIL I SAW THIS PHOTO I know I'm pretty pale but seriously I look like a vampire haha! I also need to learn how to pose, wheeee

One of my favourite areas of the ROM is the geology section, where you get to see all the pretty gems! Here are some of my favourites. I'm absolutely in love with opals, and this angel is one of my favourites in the gem collections. I really need some opal jewelry or something, such beautiful colours...

Have you ever been to the ROM? What are your favourite exhibits?

Wanted but not Needed

Hello lovelies!

I'm a sheep. I'm a total sheep. I follow hundreds of blogs, youtube channels, and websites run by cosplayers, personalities, gurus, and vloggers that are constantly recommending items for me to by. Things that I won't be able to live without. Now that I'm a recent graduate / gleefully unemployed, I find myself lusting after basically everything without the budget or means to obtain these things. I'm a very fortunate person - I have all the material possessions I could ever want or need. But I'm allowed to lust after things right?

Here's a little wishlist I put together~

Beauty

I'm a recovering Sephora addict and have convinced myself there's only so much make that I can put on my face on a given day. Luckily, this mentality has forced me to switch up my makeup bag/routine every few days so that I get good use out of all my products. When I walk past a Sephora in the mall, I try to divert my eyes. I'm on a makeup buying ban until the end of the year, but knowing me, I'll definitely crack sometime around August (birthday hauls y'know, THE SEPHORA BIRTHDAY GIFT...ughghghdfjgkdhfg).

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette - Swatched these in store, absolutely gorgeous. Doesn't help that every beauty blogger and their cousin raves about this.

Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow in Pale Barley: Gorgeous golden bronzey nude shade / my number one eye look, this shadow would fit in perfectly.

Clarisonic Mia2 Cleansing System: CLEAN AND PERFECT SKIN IS THE GOAAALLL and apparently this is a great way to achieve it!

Toofacted Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush- Heart shaped coral blush with shimmer? Count me in!

Roses de Chloe perfume - Roses are my absolute favourite flower, and I'm in love with my Chloe rollerball perfume. I always spritz this on myself when I pop into Sephora because I can't justify paying over 100 on a perfume yet...

Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment- I lovelovelove face masks/muds/peels, and this one claims to help with common skin concerns!

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil- This one is based purely on hype. Everyone talks about how amazing this is and how great your skin looks after using it! My skin has greatly improved over the past few months/years and I've greatly invested in my skincare regime. I'd love to see if it lives up to the hype.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Flirt - A friend was wearing this when we were out to lunch the other day and it looked gorgeous on her - a lovely soft wash of color. Plus orange lips, yesyesyes

Diorskin Nude BB Cream - Again, previously mentioned friend was wearing this and her skin looked so good! (Yes, I trust this friend's recommendation because she's a huge makeup geek and has literally tried everything/knows the goods and the bads, and has a similar skin type/shade as me)

Korres Wild Rose Daily Brightening & Refining Buff Cleanser: Already given my heart to Korres after committing to their Wild Rose night facial cream. The wild rose scent is fabulous and my skin feels amazing in the morning, so I figured the cleanser would be a natural addition!

Tech

iPhone 6: Do I need to upgrade to the 6 from my current iPhone 5? No. Do I want to? Yes! I've been eyeing this baby because of its camera - apparently its much better than the 5's camera. Also, it would be much easier to vlog on an iphone at conventions as opposed to my regular Canon ELPH 300hs = less to carry around at cons.

Razer Chroma keyboard: It looks cool as hell. YOU CAN PUT ON CHANGING COLOR PATTERNS. So cool aughghggh!

Softbox Lighting: Ok this one is a bit more of a necessity - I usually film videos in my room and rely on ikea lamps/desk laps/ overhead spotlight lighting. Before color correction, my videos are typically super yellow! I hate it. This also causes a bit of Graininess in my videos which isn't that appealing. I might look into softbox lighting soon so I can upgrade the quality of my videos.

Let me know what is on your wishlist! Have you tried any of my wishlist items? What are your thoughts?

Evening at Summit Garden

Hello lovelies!

My family and I took a trip down to Summit Garden, one of our favourite chinese restaurants. Food is tasty, portion sizes are great, and it has a very comfortable atmosphere. If you're in Toronto/ Mississauga, it's at the intersection of Winston Churchill Blvd and Dundas St. Not the most glamorous area but the food is great!

Starting off with beef stock soup filled with tender meat and carrots. Super savory.

Peking duck with flour pancakes. The waiter brings a card over to the side of the table and cuts up a peking duck right in front of your eyes! What a torturous wait... :(

Take one of the flour pancakes. smother it with hoisin or oyster sauce, and add duck/leek/carrots!

Fold it into a little taco! This is one of my favourite chinese dishes, although I'm pretty guilty of eating just pancake + hoisin sauce... It tastes good, ok?!

The leftover peking duck is cooked and made into a meaty filling. Lettuce leaves are included - again, the lettuce leaf serves as a wrap. Load up your lettuce wrap with the filling! Absolutely delicious.

CRABCRABCRABCRABCRABCRABCRABCRAB
Crab shells are my favourite...

Another favourite - sweet and sour pork served in a pineapple! Delicious and light flavor, with chunks of pineapple, and red and green bell peppers.

Noodles with bean sprouts, asparagus, and shredded beef.

Delicious! Starting to crave lettuce wraps again, but I'm sure we'll be back soon enough.

Have you tried Chinese food? What's your favourite dish?

June Makeup Bag

Hello lovelies!

It's the beginning of June, meaning today I'll be sharing some of my beauty favourites from the past month! More specifically, what was in my june makeup bag. I'll be making this a monthly feature since it seems to be quite popular! I also love sharing what I've been loving.

Starting off with the bag itself - a small pouch that came in an ipsy order (last month I think?) I love it HAHA because it's true....

After the death of my Kat Von D Lock-it Powder Foundation (dark night, rummaging around bag, compact fell and exploded, tears were shed), I was out on the lookout for a new powder foundation. Reviews led me to the Tarte Amazonian Clay Powder Airbrush Foundation in Natural Fair Honey - a mineral foundation that comes in a medium sized pot (read my review here!). Now that it's getting warmer and my skin is doing a bit better, I want to lighten up my base. The powder foundation gives medium coverage that's buildable, and feels ultra light on the skin.

I've been using my trusty it Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Waterproof Concealer in neutral medium. My holy grail concealer - waterproof, amazing coverage, lasts all day.

Recently picked up the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in Soft Brown. After having an in depth convo about brow products with a friend (yes, this is what girls do), I cracked and bought it under her recommendation. My local Sephora was sold out of ash brown, so I bought soft brown instead. Matches my hair but I would prefer the cooler tone dip brow.. doesn't make that much of a difference on me though.

Malin + Goetz mojito lip balm - favfavfav lipbalm, I love putting this on at night before bed!

Starlooks eyeliner pencil in olive - I've been turning to this pencil quite a lot because I haven't been wearing much liquid eyeliner. This soft metallic pencil is easy to smoke out on the eyes.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in Ozone - this is a super cool product I got in an ipsy bag - the pencil has a waxy texture and makes sure your lip products last much longer than usual!

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara - my mom got this in her UD Naked on the Run palette but gave it to me because she doesn't wear mascara! I only really use this on my lower eyelashes but I've been using it almost every day! A great rediscovery.

Little sephora pocket mirror - has a regular side and a magnified side.

Sample size perfume from a Sephora order of Dolce & Gabbanna the one eau de parfum. A very warm and slightly spicy scent - a bit heavy but works nicely if you just use the tiniest amount.

L'Oreal Color Riche Natural lipstick in 380 Luminous Coral- got this about a year ago in the UK, one of my favourite bright ~blood orange~ shades.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Rainforest After Dark Palette - beautiful face/eye palette with purples, browns/golds, a dusty rose blush, highlighter, and brozer. Mainly bought this for travel but the colors are lovely!

Deluxe sample of becca's shimmering skin perfector - Got this forever ago in a sephora order (hahaha so many sephora orders....) and is one of my go-to highligher faves.

That's what's inside my makeup bag!

Have you tried any of my faves? What's in your makeup bag? Do you have any favourite products this month?
