Bison Bath Salt Roundup

Hello lovelies!

I am the bath queen. I'm perfectly happy sitting in a hot bath for a few hours, gradually turning into a prune. I love bath products, from lush bombs and melts, to bath and body works, to japanese bath salts.

I'm in love with Bison bath salts. I've been using them forever (as you can probably note from the previous posts I've done, dating back to 2012! They're sweat bath powders/salts that contain hot pepper, ginger, and epsom salt combined with carbon dioxide to create a sweat-inducing and water-crackling bath experience! The salts also contain a heating and thickening agent that causes the water to become slightly thicker/slimy. It's a really pleasant feeling and bison makes some of my favourite bath products.

I have 3 salts to share with you today!

"Soda flavour" bath salt. Smells like sweet soda, or ramune soda! Milky white powder that does not change color in the bath. Turns the water a milky white colour! It has a very fresh scent and has a very sweet scent.

Love the smell of these bath salts. Makes me feel relaxed and my skin feels more moisturized! Also produces a good amount of steam.

Next up, the "hot citron flavour" bath salt! Lovely citrusy scent, quite lemony.

The powder starts off as being pink with clear crystals, but turns orange when it hits the water! Super cool! The crystals are like little bath pop-rocks and make crackling noises when in the bath. Strong citrus scent is refreshing!

Finally, the "ginger soda flavor"bath salt pack. (My hand looks super red/purple/super freaky but its just because I was stirring the hot bath water heheheeeeee) Bath salts are a light orange/red color with yellow and clear crystals.

The bath powder turns yellow/orange when hitting the water. Not so much of a ginger scent, but definitely a noticeable soda/citron scent.

Finally, Bison's Ginger Cola flavoured bath. A reallllly weird combination imo. I know it's a sweath bath and ginger is supposed to help with it but...why cola..?

Powder is an orange/red color with clear and yellow crystals!

When it hits the water, it turns a brown color. I snapchatted my friend (add me - lovelyghost!) and said it looked like someone had thrown dirt in the bath. A less polite friend said it looked like someone crapped in the bath. Brown color was an immediate turnoff.......

Didn't notice much of a steam effect or extra moisturization. I was totally thrown on the scent - cola with a weird side tinge of ginger? Doesn't go together in my opinion, so this was a miss for me. The previous ginger-soda scent was much nicer...

Those are my thoughts on the bison bath salts I recently tried out! I'll probably have a part 2 coming out after I go pick up a few more. There are a few more varieties I'd like to check out!

Have you tried bison bath salts before? What are your favourite kinds of bath products?

Summer Nail Edit

Hello lovelies!

It's summerrrrtimeee!! Which means that I change my nail color way too often because I'm indecisive. Not my fault though, there are too many good summer releases! Here are some of my favourite polishes at the moment... Not super summery, but beautiful colours none the less.

Mer-Maid for Each Other - Nicole by OPI  //  Watermelon Rind - China Glaze //  Awakening - China Glaze // Peach Side Babe - Essie // Sugar Daddy -- Essie
Sally Hansen Diamon Flash Top Coat // Sally Hansen Triple Strong Strengthener

If you have thin nails like me, GET THE TRIPLE STRONG STRENGTHENER. I'M SERIOUS. This is like a gel coating for your nails that can be removed with nail polish remover. Two coats serving as your base strengthens your nails and makes them hard/resistant to peeling! Also the less your nails bend, the less likely your nail polish is to crack!

Current absolute fave - the ever-so-popular Peach Side Babe - part of Essie's 2015 summer collection! The most perfect creamy pink/peach color with a glossy finish - absolutely gorgeous and completely screams summer! I don't think this is a permanent color, so I'll have to go purchase a backup. This is the closest shade I can find to my previous favourite, Rimmel's Rose Libertine. So prettyyyyyy.

What are some of your favourite polishes of the moment?

The Sheraton Gateway Airport Hotel in Toronto YYZ

Hello lovelies!

Let the travel blogging begin! WOO YES, one of my favourite things to do! Haven't been able to do it that often but I've got a great series of posts lined up for you! On July 1st, I flew out to the city of angels for Anime Expo 2015! However, the night before, I had the pleasure of staying in the Sheraton Gateway Hotel located in Toronto Pearson Airport.

While organizing my stay, I originally messed up the dates...twice! Felt a bit like an idiot because (for some reason) I thought that there were only 29 days in June. Luckily the Sheraton customer service was completely understanding and were able to change the dates of my stay!! What a relief! Made me look forward to my stay even more!

Toronto Pearson Airport is literally surrounded with hotels, but only one is located within the actual airport itself! If you're flying to/from Toronto and don't want to to deal with the hassle of taxis, finding your way around an unfamiliar city, or have to leave for an early morning/late night flight, the Sheraton is located right in Terminal 3!!

The Sheraton Gateway Hotel is located in Toronto Airport! Driving to the hotel was a bit of a mission - the roads leading up/around the airport are a nightmare so it took us 4 laps around the airport before we found the airport! You have to drive through the parking lot to the top floor in order to get to the hotel entrance. Parking is $30 a night, but there's a value parking lot just a short distance away. Access to Terminal 1 is also super easy, as the hotel is connected to the terminal link monorail train.

Stairs leading up from Terminal 1. If you're arriving from there, you can just take the bridge from the airport straight to the hotel!

Lobby area had a restaurant, bar, and open tables with power outlets in case you want to use your laptop/ charge your widgets! Also lots of sofas and high ceilings!! (I lovelovelove high ceilings, but I think that just stems from me being really tall haha.)

Check in was at 3PM but I arrived at around 7 because I was busy packing up/running errands earlier that day. Was quickly checked in and given a key to the Sheraton Club level on the 8th floor! The rooms on this floor receive special perks such as free internet and a club lounge (with yummy snacksssss but you'll see more of that later!)! I was upgraded to the Prime Minister Suite.

LUXURY.

Walked into the room to be greeted with a letter personally welcoming me for my stay, as well as a bottle of coke, a little dessert cup (which didn't survive the photo) and some fruit/cheese! The personalized touch really made me feel welcome!

Upon entering, the first things you notice - a conference table with some fancy chairs - most likely used for business meetings. There's a large flat-screen TV mounted on the wall behind me, great for presentations. Or if you're like me, sitting at the table eating desserts and feeling super important.

In the back - a mini living room with a very nice sofa and chair! This room's view overlooks the parking lot, however there are other rooms available that overlook the airport runways.

In case you're wondering about the noise - the hotel is located at the airport, so that means non-stop airplanes overhead right? This was a concern of mine until I learned that the windows are double paned so you don't hear anything!

The side room is lined with cabinets, complimentary waters, a coffee maker, and a mini fridge located the left side cabinet. In the back closet, there were even 2 cotton dressing gowns!

Couldn't resist taking some bathroom selfies. Super nice, spacious bathroom. Comes with loads of nice freebies in case you forget anything - the usual shampoo/conditioner, body wash, a bath loofah, mini sewing kit... they really have you covered!

Next, onto the part you're probably the most interested about... The bedroom!

You may have seen me tweeting about the room on my twitter! The beds were so comfortable, I felt like I was sinking into a cloud.

The view from the doorway. The bedroom has a king sized bed (yay more room to roll around and cosy up!), a bose sound system, a large dresser, a desk and a large flat screen TV! There is also a bench in front of a large mirror.

I basically just cosied up and watched Food Network all night before falling asleep... The bed was so soft!

Dress - LOFT // Shoes - Sketchers

Exploring the room was really fun... but there's more! There's a Sheraton Club lounge located by the elevators. Sheraton Club hosts hors d'oeuvres until about 8:30PM, so we popped by for a light evening snack.

There were all sorts of things - desserts, light appetizers, a veggie platter, and coffees/teas...

Grabbed a plate of muscles but accidentally grabbed only the shells... The lounge attendant noticed and we laughed about it and he brought me another plate! Such lovely service :D

Finished off with some fruit and women's FIFA! I don't know who was playing (USA vs...?) but there was a guy sitting at the couch in front of the TV who was getting quite into it! Haha!!

After we finished up, we headed back to the room.

Whilst looking through the list of amenities that the Sheraton had to offer, we noticed that there was an indoor pool! Headed down for a little swim before bed.

View from the window by the elevator. What a cool view!

There weren't too many people, only 2 families and their kids. I sat in the hottub for a good while and let my stress melt away... A very much needed jacuzzi session. After that, I went back to the room and crashed....zzzz....

Check out is at noon, so I got to sleep in! A nice change since I had been getting up early for the past two weeks in order to get my blog posts/videos up for you all to watch while I was at Anime Expo! Before checking out, we popped by the lounge for some breakfast.

OJ, some soy milk (#loveit), fruit, danish, and an egg. There was so much to choose from! Sat and ate and watched the news.

Checked out at about 11AM and headed to Terminal 1 for check-in. Off to LA!! Please look forward to those posts, as there are many more to come!

Overall, I had a lovely experience at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel! I highly recommend it if you need a place to stay while traveling in/out of Toronto Pearson Airport. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the location is super convenient! An all around winner, methinks.

You can check out all of their details and booking info over at their website, twitter page, and facebookpage.

Cheer Burger | Sachie's California Food Tour

Hello lovelies!

Here's the first post in a new series on my blog... Sachie's Food Tour! :D If you've been following me on twitter or instagram, you already know that I recently went on a trip to Los Angeles, California, for Anime Expo! I had a fantastic time at the convention....but an equally as exciting time feasting at various food trucks / restaurants!

I love food, and blogging.... so adding a food blogging feature on this blog was a natural path! Hopefully I'll help out a few of you guys who are looking for places to eat!

Alright - first day of Anime Expo. It's a huge convention, which means that most restaurants in the area will be full of cosplayers. Tired, hungry, and having to wait in massive lines? No thanks! Luckily across from the convention centre, there's a huge parking lot full of food trucks!! Everything from sushi burritos, pho, riceballs, burgers, boba tea.....and more!!

(photo: yelp)

I decided to eat at Cheer Burger! I was drawn to the brightly colored truck, and the fact that I was seriously craving a burger.

It was only around noon and the line for cheer burger wasn't too long, so I took a look at their menu. I ordered "The Works Burger" ($8) which has lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, 1000 island dressing, bacon, fresh avocado, grilled onion, home made angus beef patty, american cheeze, topped off with a toasted bun.

Starting to crave it again....

Hot day, so I got a Sanpellegrino sparkling blood orange drink! Tastes good but seriously overpriced - it was so hot that I didn't even care anymore! If you're going to a con, bring your own drinks.

Fortunately, it didn't take too long for my burger to arrive...

THIS. THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD BURGER. Seriously!! Fresh veg, thick beef patty, yummy sauces dripping out... The avocado coupled well with the crispy bacon... aaahhhh I'm itching to get my hands on another one! (Why don't they have one in Toronto, why???) For some reason this food truck has bad reviews on yelp, but I think they're just from impatient customers who had to stand through long lines. I haven't had anything else on their menu so I can only attest to the burger that I had.

I can confidently say that this burger lasted about 2 minutes in my hands. If you're in LA and see Cheer Burger, grab "The Works" burger! I guarantee that you'll love it!

Skincare Saviours: Garnier, Korres, Clinique and more!

Hello lovelies!

I struggled with acne and breakouts until about a year and a half ago. Throughout my teens, I was constantly battling against constant breakouts, combination skin, and redness.  It took a real jab at my self confidence - most of my friends, the bloggers I followed, and youtubers I looked up to all seemed to have flawless skin! I made it my mission to find out what worked for me. I'm happy to say that my skin has been healthier than ever!

Here are some of my favourite products. None of these are acne-specific, as I found my acne was not a result of hormones but product/ingredient irritation.

Garnier Skin Renew Radiance Moisture Cream // Garnier Pure 3 in 1 Cleaner // Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash // Korres Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial // Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm // Bioderma Crealine Solution Micellaire

Still in love with my Clinique cleansing balm! I rarely use makeup wipes to remove my makeup now, as I found that the rubbing irritated my skin. This cleansing balm massages into the skin as an oil, but emulsifies when water is added. It's great at taking off waterproof makeup as well. It lasts forever (I bought mine in December), and you only need a tiny amount! I think this is a great skincare product to invest in. - $35 at Sephora

After cleasing, I like to sweep some Bioderma Crealine Solution Micellaire all over my face. I bought two large bottles in France last year and I've still got almost half a bottle left! Not irritating at all, doesn't cause redness, and catches any last bit of makeup that I may have missed.

Another staple is Garnier's Pure 3 in 1 cleanser, scrub, and mask. I love the scent of this - very fresh. It leaves my skin feeling clean and tingly! It's a thick cream with scrubbing microbeads, but is gentle enough for daily use. Sometimes I leave it on for about 5-10 minutes as a mask while I'm in the bath or shower... feels lovely.

I bought the mini Simple moisturizing cleanser in Rite Aid when I was in LA as an impulse buy as I lost my Tosowoong powder cleanser. I've been using it almost every day before using my Garnier scrub - it feels very gentle, lathers up nicely, and makes my skin feel clean and moisturized! I'll definitely be buying the full size after I use this up.

Finaaaaaally, my two favourite moisturizers. My skin isn't particularly dry, but I make sure not to skip this step in the mornings/evenings. I think many of my skin irritations stemmed from dehydration so now I take extra care to ensure my skin is moisturized! The Garnier radiance moisturizer has vitamin C, and serves as my daily moisturizer! It makes my skin feel soft, and absorbs quickly without leaving an oily residue.

I like to treat my skin with the Korres Wild Rose sleeping facial cream if I've been out all day, or have been wearing a lot of makeup for a convention. It's a real treat for the skin, and I find that it revives and nourishes the skin beautifully overnight! $48 at Sephora (US stores, I got mine at Shoppers for a few dollars more)

What's are some of your favourite skincare items at the moment? Would you rather invest in higher end makeup or skincare products? Have you tried any of the products mentioned?

Hello lovelies!

I haven't hosted a giveaway in a while. I've recently hit a few milestones - 62k on youtube, 14k on Instagram, and I'm almost at 13k on twitter... Many people know me for my Sailor Jupiter cosplay, so this seems appropriate haha. I actually own this figurine and have an extra! So I decided to give away a Sailor Jupiter figurine to one lucky winner!

Let's take a look at it, shall we?

This is seriously one of the prettiest figures ever. Sailor Jupiter was/is my favourite sailor scout growing up - she was kind, strong, pretty, and super tall! I always felt like I could relate most to her. We're both amazon ladies. We both like cooking, and sports. I was a bit of a tomboy growing up, so I could identify with her. I always wore my hair in a high ponytail, ~jupiter~ style. My nostalgia rekindled with the Sailor Moon Crystal reboot. I modified the bodysuit from my Sailor Mars cosplay into Jupiter for Katsucon!

UGHHHH SHES SO PRETTYYYY!!! It's a gorgeous figurine featuring Jupe's signature crazy long legs, flowy ponytail, and transformation pose. Jupiter is everything that I want to be in life!! I'LL NEVER STOP LOVING HER. I'll probably still be cosplaying her at the age of 80. That'll be a sight!

SO.....how can you get your hands on this gem?

Just fill out the rafflecopter widget below!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

This giveaway ends on July 31st, so you have a little over two weeks! It is an international giveaway! The photos above feature my own figurine, the actual giveaway figurine is in the sealed box. There are lots of ways to get entries! I will post the winner on the 31st, and send them an email. If you want, I'll even sign the figure! Haha!

Best of luck, fellow moonies!

A Week in Los Angeles | Anime Expo 2015, Porter Robinson, and The Fire

Hello lovelies!

It is time.....for the Great Anime Expo Update of 2015! During the 1st - 8th of July, I flew from Toronto to Los Angeles for North America's largest anime convention - Anime Expo! Anime Expo is my all time favourite convention - the level of cosplay is higher, the convention halls are bigger, and events are more grand than any other convention I've been to!

But first... let's talk about the flight over. At about noon on July 1st, I checked out of the Sheraton Gateway Hotel(located in YYZ Terminal 3, you can read my review here). I checked in and went through security earlier since I had nothing to do. Toronto Pearson Airport is really modern now - they a massive renovation a few years ago, and now the interior looks modern and high tech! There are iPad lounges that you can sit at, free of charge. Nothing like spotty hotel internet and iPad solitaire to pass the time....

Our flight was schedule to leave at 4:10PM. After everyone had boarded, we were told to get off the plane due to an engine technicality. Good thing they found the problem before we were up in the air! Apparently part of the engine was malfunctioning, which required an airplane technician and spare part to be brought over. We had to wait an extra 3 hours until we were permitted to reboard the plane. (They did give us $10 food vouchers while we waited, so I got myself a croissant and booster juice smoothie.)

Love flying into cities overnight. We arrived at LAX at around 11PM and were picked up by Tako and Megan. Anime Expo has a rather notorious reputation for being line con... so we decided to pick up our tickets that night. Pre-registration was open 36 hours before the con official opened. The next day was the first day of the convention...

Day 0!

You know you're in weeaboo territory when you see dating sim busses! Day 0 duties included picking up my press pass, scouting the exhibition hall, and trying out the food trucks.

Insanely packed crowed waiting for the doors of the exhibition/ dealers hall to open. That's where you'll find anything and everything you could ever want related to cosplay, games, and anime.

For example, if you were desperately looking for a rubber cat mask, look no further! Anime Expo has all your needs covered.

Happened to find a lost Eevee in the women's washroom. It was a pretty cute plushie and some poor con attendee must have dropped it, so we took it to the Lost and Found. A few days after the convention, a greentext post popped up on 4chan...

How cute! I'm glad the owner was reunited with their toy. I lost a Tepig plush at Anime North one year and nobody turned it in... :(

Anime Expo

Now, when you've been attending conventions for more than half a decade, you eventually run out of things to do. Conventions get repetitive. Whenever I attend cons, I try to focus less on lounging around and occasionally doing photoshoots to experiencing panels and convention events. At Anime Expo, Megan and Tako convinced Jord and I to attend the Taiko workshop!

It was a very interesting panel - we got to watch performances, learn about the history of the art, as well as different Taiko techniques and equipment. Megan and Tako are Taiko players so they knew some of the performers. Spectators had the chance to go up and try playing patterns themselves.

Day 1!

Got go wear my Lin (from Spirited Away) cosplay! Finally met Amie / Miss Habit. She's so beautiful in real life - such a lovely girl! She's so charming, I was temporarily blinded with senpai sparkles. Also ran into Hayao Miyazaki.......

Bought Crunchyroll concert tickets for $5 (premium member rate), as opposed to $45! It was announced that Anamanaguchi was opening for a ~mystery guest~... I kind of figured that it would be Porter Robinson because Crunchyroll has connections with Porter's brother. My first time seeing both groups live, and it was absolutely wonderful! We got Orchestra tickets, and had great seats near the front.

Anamanaguchi's set was hyper and bubbly - they played Prom Night!! I also fell in love with Pop It, which I had not heard before.

Porter's Worlds show was amazing - the whole Microsoft theatre was packed! His set graphics were so cool to watch, and he seemed to enthusiastic. For his encore, he played a remix of the Oreimo opening by ClariS...

The fire!

Now...... the day after the concert was a different story.. At about 8AM, Jord and I woke up to a frantic Tako. "GUYS... we gotta get out...."The first thing that came to my head was that we had overslept and ok great they booked the hotel a day early and now we have to check out.

Then we heard screaming. "GUYS THERE'S A FIRE WE GOTTA GET OUT."

?????????????!?!?!?!?!?!11/!/!/!!?!?1/!/!/11/!/1!?????

The house next door had burst into flames. Coincidently, our room was one of the closest to the house, with it being right on the other side of our bathroom window. When we were grabbing our stuff and fleeing from the room, I looked at the frosted bathroom window pane and saw flickering orange. So scary......

Of course, being the social media addict that I am, I photographed, recorded, and vlogged the whole thing. (Still have to edit that video, but it'll be up on my youtube channel soon -click here to subscribe.) We sat in the parking lot for an hour watching numerous fire trucks pull up. Smoke billowed above, and pieces of ash rained down on us. After the fire had been put out, we were told we could go back into our rooms and grab anything we had missed. Luckily, we managed to get almost everything out. The room was undamaged - smelled a little smoky though. The window pane that was facing the house had cracked due to the heat.

You can read the article about the fire here

We were so stressed out that morning. Was going to cosplay Lin again but honestly wasn't in the mood. Plus I smelled like smoke. :(

We spent most of the weekend at Uguubear's booth (being booth babes yea) because walking everywhere was super tiring and we wanted to sit...LOL.... Overall the convention was quite fun! I held a meetup on the Saturday of the convention (didn't take any pictures because I was so nervous), and I'm pretty sure over 100 people showed up over the period of an hour and a half!!! I had a line of people who came to chat, take selfies, and hug... It was so lovely. I can't stress enough how I'm basically just a normal girl on the internet, so it's really overwhelming when so many of you took time out of your con to wait in line and say hello!! ;_;

I'm really grateful, thank you all so much.

That's all for my Anime Expo post - stay tuned for more LA blog posts!

Have you ever been to California or attended Anime Expo? Have you ever experienced a housefire before? I'd love to hear about your experiences....scary stuff!

California Beach Day | In N Out, Huntington,& Bonfires

Hello lovelies! Part two of my California blog series - be sure to read Part 1 here, all about Anime Expo!

Jord and I really wanted to have our ~California Beach Episode~, so we arranged a day out at the beach with Tako, Andrew, Megan, and her boyfriend!

Before that, Tako took us to In N Out. I always hear Californians talk about In N Out, and how good it is! I thought it was just a regular fast food chain, but as always, I figured there was some truth behind the hype. We decided to stop off at an In N Out before our day trip at Huntington Beach! It's got a ~secret menu~ as well, but I ordered the standard "#1" - a double-double hamburger with a drink and fries!

Watching my soon-to-be food baby come into creation...

~ANGELIC CHORUS~
In N Out didn't taste like regular fast food hamburgers, it tasted much fresher!! I didn't feel gross after eating it like I do when I have Taco Bell or McDonalds... If they had this in Canada, I'm pretty sure I'd be eating there quite often haha...

Ok, this might look a little gross to you but seeing this photo makes me want to cry happy tears in remembrance for my perfect fast food burger. IF YOU'RE EVER IN CALIFORNIA/SOMEWHERE NEAR AN IN N OUT, GET IT GET IT GET IT.

Arrived at Huntington Beach! We were worried that it was going to be cloudy but sun shone through, as always. Such a beautiful day! It hot by the sand and cooler by the water. Toronto's beaches suck compared to California's!

Picked up a new bottle of Squirt (ongoing joke the entire week we were in California... I mean come on, who names a drink ~Squirt~) We didn't have a place to put it though so we dug a hole and covered it with a frisbee - our "Squirt Hole"...... Haaaaaa.

Spent most of our day making sandcastles with our $10 Target beach set (sand castles vs waves, you can't win...), playing frisbee, and relaxing around the bonfire pit. The bonfire pit was pretty cool because you can't really have bonfires at beaches in Toronto.

We also got to experience a beach arrest, which was pretty cool! A police helicopter kept circling close where we were sitting, when it started blasting an announcement to stay where we were. I think they were trying to keep track of someone on the beach. Eventually we saw a police car drive up, and the helicopter flew down to the other end of the beach. Another interesting event added to the list, haha!

Our beach day was lovely! I haven't been to the beach in ages, so this was a real treat. Unfortunately my hair got all salty from the ocean waves, can't understand why people willingly try to achieve ~beachy waves~, because it was a pain to wash out. Haha. On the upside, I did tan (a tiny bit, but still!) and didn't burn at all!

Have you been to Huntington Beach before? Do you prefer lounging around, or playing in the water? What are some of your beach essentials?

Shin-Sen-Gumi Ramen | Sachie's California Food Tour

Hello lovelies!

Welcome to another post in my series - Sachie's California Food Tour! You can read the rest of the posts in this series by clicking here.

Tired and hungry after spending a day at Huntington beach, we decided that we needed to fill up on good food. Megan and Tako were very enthusiastic about Shin-Sen-Gumi Hataka Ramen in Fountain valley.

We reserved a table of six. There a few tables ahead of us, and a line of people waiting outside. Luckily, California weather is perfect so we just sat at the benches outside the restaurant and waited for the host to call our name. From what I can remember, we waited for just over half an hour...? Didn't think this place was going to be too busy for a Monday but we were wrong - there was a constant line of people streaming through the door!

The inside of the restaurant is quite small. Best if you're coming in pairs or groups up to three, as there are only about 2 sets of large tables at the back.

I ordered a regular ramen with normal noodles, an egg, thick soup oil, strong soup base, and curry paste. I added the entire bowl of curry paste into the ramen which I would not recommend if you don't lovelovelove curry like I do. (It made the dish quite salty, but still really good!!)

Oh my godddDDD THIS WAS SO GOOOOOD. Probably one of the best ramen dishes I've ever had. I'm not even the biggest fan of ramen (I prefer udon), but seriously.... so delicious. Everything was cooked wonderfully - soup was savory, meat was soft, egg was perfectly done, and just the right amount of noodles. If you finished up your noodles, you could order an extra portion for $1.50. I believe the dish cost around $11 total for me (usually about 8 but I added the curry paste.) Such a great price compared to ramen places in Toronto, which would easily cost you $15+.

Definitely going to drop by this place again the next time I'm in California! I highly recommend it.

The Blushing Girl | Blush Collection

Hello lovelies!

In an effort to distract myself from my aching desire to peruse the Sephora website, I thought I'd do a makeup post. (It's almost birthday month and my Sephora addiction relapses quite hard - half of my loves list is blushes!...) Blush is one of my favourite types of makeup - I'm drawn to the soft and sparkly peach, rose, and coral shades. I've built up a little collection over the years, by no means as big as other people's but still, not too shabby.

I'm drawn to orange toned blushes - I've got yellow toned skin so I find warmer shades suit me better as opposed to cooler tones. As a result, most of my blush collection features colours that are quite similar.

I have about nine blushes in total. All (but one) are powders... I haven't really delved much into liquid or cream formulas yet but it's only a matter of time.....

Let's take a closer look at some of my favourites!

The blush from ELF'sblush and bronzer duoin St Lucia - a pretty close dupe to Nars' famous Orgasm blush! A soft coral with gold shimmer.

Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Candy Glow. I LOVE THIS ONE AHH I think its one of my favourites at the moment! It's my only high end blush at the moment. Not too shimmery, and a mix of three gorgeous colors. The top is a bright pink, middle is a peach, and bottom is a darker pink- coral. They apply quite sheerly which is nice. I've mainly been using the bottom two colors at the moment. So pretty.

Hikari blush in Tango. I received this in an ipsy bag which was a nice surprise because it's full size! It's a bright, matte, warm toned pink shade that is super pigmented, so only the tiniest amount is needed, Not a color that I would normally go for, but super flattering none the less!

StilaPositively Pink blush for women's breast cancer awareness. Bought this in the UK online because they were having a charity sale - this blush and a lip glaze for £6 which is a total steal! A matte pink blush with a light champagney pink ribbon in the middle.

Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Highlighter. This isn't technically a blush but it's a rose-gold highlighter that I often use in place of, or mix with blush. The reason for its weird texture is that I dropped it and it shattered into fine pieces (thank god the compact was shut), so I had to use alcohol and mix everything together so it would dry as a solid piece. Thankfully this hasn't affected the pigmentation too much!

Milani blush in Dolce Pink - a warm, bright pink blush with a very rosey gold / shimmery finish. Works kind of like a dual blush-highlighter finish! Very pretty, Milani sells some of the best drugstore blushes you can buy!

NYC Cosmetics blush in Prospect Park Rose. Pretty peachy pink matte - a very nice rosey coral.

Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek blush in PK301 Peach. Probably my most orange-toned blush, this is more of a peach shade than a pink. Has a very nice natural finish, matte. I think this was one of the first blushes I bought, I ordered it on ebay from a Japanese cosmetics seller. The blush itself has dried out/hardened a bit so I have to scrape it in order to get some color! Still one of my favourite shades though, I feel like it really suits me.

Naris Up Love Chouchou blush in Peach pink - this isn't so much of a peach shade, but rather a bright bright pink - almost as bright as the Hikari blush. The tinyiest amount will give you a bright finish. I've had this forever but I haven't even hit pan on it yet! I tend to use this at conventions as it shows up really nicely in photos. It is mostly matte but has a little bit of shimmer in it, not a noticeable amount though.

So there we go~ my blush collection! This is probably more than I need, but I love blushes and I love wearing them. I have a lot of similar shades but they're for my different...blush moods? Ya feel me?! I really want to get my hands on one of the Hourglass Ambient lighting blushes that all the beauty guru's rave about but man I don't think I can justify spending $50+ plus on one... lol.

What was your favourite shade? What are some of your go to blushes? Do you have any on your wishlist at the moment?

Luckdish Curry | Sachie's California Food Tour

Hello lovelies!

Next stop on my California food tour - Luckdish curry! For the second and third day of Anime Expo, I got currryyyyy!!! Curry is one of my favourite dishes! Thai! Japanese! Indian! You name it! My favourite is Japanese curry though...

Luckily, the food truck lot at Anime Expo had a Japanese curry booth...and that's where I stumbled upon Luckdish!

There was a bit of a line but I didn't care! I was starving, and curry is a hearty meal that will fill up your stomach.

I got a medium chicken curry bowl ($10) with a spicy level of two. I can't do spice at all, and level two didn't really feel like a two lol. I was expecting mild spice but got a load of sriracha? on top of my curry. Had a bit of a kick which took a little getting used to.

Although I complain about the spice, I got the same level the next day! Tasty chicken curry on top of a bed of white rice with onions, beans, and parsley. So tasty, and it smelled so good! Definitely recommend them if you're a fan of curry. They've got some other things on their menu such as curry burritos, quesadillas, and nachos!

You can catch them over on their website, and on twitter.

Nomad Coffee Club | Giveaway

Hello lovelies!

I love coffee. I love pretty instagram feeds. After stumbling upon Nomad Coffee Club's instagram, I quickly followed and lurked their page. I was super happy when Nomad reached out on a possible collaboration and giveaway, which I'd love to show you today!

Nomad Coffee Club is an online coffee bean subscription service. Based in Toronto, they deliver freshly roasted specialty coffee straight to your door! I've seen tons of online subscription services, but never one for coffee.

Now, I'm pretty noobish when it comes to coffee. I drank it occasionally during the school year to keep me up during the late nights working on my thesis project. However, it was only the instant stuff by Nescafe, which was alright. Nothing special. Whenever I go out to a coffee shop, I normally order lattes. I've never really had coffee that's been freshly roasted!

So, what's included in the Nomad Coffee Club plan?
Fresh, Delicious
Specialty Coffee
Enjoy 12 oz and a whole bag of awesome!
A different coffee every month
Brews up to 35 cups
Roasted with love in Toronto
FREE shipping & Taxes Included
Check out this pretttyyyy packaging!! These beans were roasted on the 22nd of July, and I picked them up from my PO box on the 24th! It's awesome that they're also based in Toronto. Everything arrives so quickly!

Look at my beautiful coffee art ;))))

This is the flavour I received this month. Every month is different! This month's flavour is Fazenda Passeio, from Brazil, Sul de Minas. It's a full body coffee with notes of milk chocolate and red grape. Very flavourful!

Since I don't really have a coffee grinder, I searched the internet and found that you can use a magic bullet or food processor to grind the beans! My parents also wanted to try out the coffee so we loaded up the Magic Bullet...

I should've shaken up the beans a bit more, but it did a pretty good job. I also found out that coffee beans lose about 60% of their aroma within 15 minutes of grinding! It's also better to grind the beans yourself instead of getting pre-ground ones because of this! So its best to just grind and blend the beans whenever you're feeling like a cuppa.

Now, lucky readers, here's your chance to try out some of Nomad's coffee for yourself! Nomad Coffee Club is offering a one month subscription/box to one lucky person!! I can attest that it's really good coffee, so you're in for a treat! You can check out their website here.

This giveaway is available for Canadian residents only. More international giveaways coming up in the future though!

Nomad Coffee Club - 1 Month Subscription Giveaway

If this seems like something you'd like to try out, head on over to their website by clicking here and use the code "SACHIE" for $5 off!! Definitely worth it if you're a big coffee drinker. It's tastier and nicer on your wallet than getting that cup of Starbucks everyday.

A Satin Touch with 3Wishes

Hello lovelies!

Sometimes, a girl just wants to feel like a princess. Lacy and flowy and dreamy~ And what better way to do that than with some pretty lingerie~? Whenever I want to feel extra confident, I pop on a nice lingerie set. Nobody's going to see it, but it's the thought that counts!

Today I'd like to share a beautiful set from 3Wishes! 3Wishes is an online store that sells costumes, clubwear, and lingerie. They've got some beautiful sets.... I have the Satin Touch Babydoll Lingerie Set. I think it's quite important to spice things up in a relationship, and what better way to do it than make your partner's eyes bulge out of their head?

This is a 2 piece set, featuring a flowy bra/top, and panties. It's from a brand called Coquette. I've never heard of this brand, so I can't really compare this set to anything else in their range. It's a flowy and sheer babydoll top, adorned with lots of pretty pace near at the cups and at the bottom.

I don't know why, but the first thing I thought of when I saw this set was Sailor Moon! There was some gorgeous Sailor Moon lingerie outfits that were going around on tumblr (by artist Soudwrong), and I fell in love. Absolutely gorgeous! It fits along the same lines of being a Sailor Scout as well... strong, sexy, and confident! It would be lovely to do a Sailor Moon shoot wearing this set!

Anyway, let's take a closer look...

The bra cups themselves are only demi-cups, meaning they cover half what a normal bra cup would. This gives a bit of coverage, but still boosts the girls up! There's lace which goes across the front, very elegant.

The inside of the cups are lined as well...

There are 5 clasps at the back, which help support the bra cups and keep everything in place, which helps create a lovely silhouette. It's like wearing a bra, without the actual bra! Doesn't feel tight or restricting either. Just make sure you warn whoever will be taking it off that there are quite a few clasps, might spare some awkward fumbling around ;)

This set includes a cream coloured set of panties, which matches the rest of the outfit! It's made with a satiny material.

This is definitely a gorgeous set - fits wonderfully, feels soft, and offers great support. For reference, I typically wear M size in most clothing, and the M fit me very well. (The adjustable clasps are a great bonus!) It's not tight or form fitting, but loose and comfortable. It currently retails for $61.95, which I think is a reasonable price point for high quality lingerie. From my experience, the quality is comparable to higher-end brands that I've tried, such as Victoria's Secret and Adore Me!

If you're feeling romantic and want to surprise someone with something nice, or even to treat yourself, I highly recommend this set! It's giving me some beautiful honeymoon/bride vibes... in this cream color, it definitely seems fitting. It would also be a great piece to do any lingerie version cosplays in, which seems to be quite popular at the moment!

You can find this set by clicking here.

What do you think of this set? Have you ordered from 3Wishes before?

Heya lovelies!

A little while ago, Redbubble reached out to me in order to collaborate with them on their Art in Motion campaign!

Redbubble is a website specializing in custom printed apparel, prints, and home decor. They've got a massive range of artwork and design available for custom printing, with proceeds supporting independent artists. I've bought some cool stuff in the past, like this Studio Ghibli fighting game t-shirt! It's a great way to express yourself through fashion and design, and adding that little pop of originality for wearable art!

I got to pick a few items to share with you guys!

These designs are super cool! Sp8cebit is an artist that specializes in pixel art renditions of galaxy patterns! There offer  two similar designs - in red and purple!
I was a little nervous about the sizes since I have quite a bit of trouble finding pants that are long enough (I'm about 5'10") I got a size M and they fit very well! For reference, I usually wear 34-36" inseam jeans. They are long enough for my legs, and they've got a lot of stretch!

I find that the easiest way to style colorful patterned leggings is by pairing a solid print top, and shoes that are the same color. I paired these with my black Chihiro t-shirt from ANGSTCHILD.

Going along with the mint theme... check out my cool new phone case! :D
This is the Catsup - Cat Burger Delight design for iPhone 5, by catshrine. LOOK, IT'S SO CUUUTE AHH! My inner cat lady couldn't resist. One of my first blog names was actually 'delicious cats' (nothing to do with eating cats btw, I always made a joke that my cat was cute enough to eat and would pretend to nomnom her.)

Bun, pickles, onion, cat, lettuce, and tomato... the perfect cat burger. I'm also wearing Kate Spade for Nails Inc polish in Uptown Glamour - it's a beautiful champagne gold colour. I got it as a magazine sample when I was living in the UK... from Elle, I think!

Have you heard of Redbubble before? How do you style patterned leggings? Have you ever ordered custom artwork clothing/decor before?

UMAMI BURGER | Sachie's California Food Tour

Hello lovelies!

I AM SO EXCITED TO WRITE THIS POST. I've been waiting almost 2 years to go to Umami burger ever since I read about it on Fashimi's blog. I don't know what stood out to me, but I longed for it. I wanted to go last year during AX but we didn't have time... This year, I made it my mission!

We drove to Umami Burger in the Irvine Spectrum Centre.

There was even a cute little carousel!! I love California weather, so much sunshine, and the temperature was lovely.

Ate at around 5-6PM and there wasn't much of a line, so we were seated immediately

We were handed a menu and immediately took to the intense decision making process. The four of us decided to each order a different burger so we could share and taste all of the different types!

I opted for the classic Umami burger (if it's named after the restaurant, it must be special....right?) Jord got the Manly, Megan got the throwback, and Joe ordered the KBBQ.

The waitress brought us a bucket of special Umami sauces! If I can remember correctly, one was a hot sauce (diablo?), a ranch dressing, garlic sauce, and Umami's house ketchup (tomato paste blended with anchovies)

Ordered a "mexican coke". Didn't taste too much different than regular coke but had a different type of sweetness? Joe told me it was because they used cane sugar. Still tasty!

We waited in anticipation until.... 2 serves with large plates arrived and handed us our food!! ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL?? The Umami burger has parmesan frico, shiitake mushroom, roasted tomato, carmelized onions, and umami house ketchup. My burger was medium-well done and was absolutely delicious, with onions embedded within the oozing cheese.

Passed my phone around and  told everyone to take photos of their burgers because we all agreed they had to be immortalized in photographs before eating. We actually took a few bites of our own burgers and then rotated so we got a taste of everyone elses! I really liked Jord's manly burger... I'll make sure to order it next time!

We also had a side of truffle fries and maple bacon fries.

The burgers only lasted 5 minutes tops... Our lovely server asked us if we wanted dessert. After hearing about the "UFO", a deep fried ice cream sandwich. The words "deep fried" both scare and intrigue me, so we #yolo'd it and decided to share it!

"...vanilla-maple cream filled oatmeal cookie sandwich, tempura battered and fried, topped with vanilla bean ice cream and coarse sea salt."(-food beast)

Look at that glorious drizzle of caramel sauce! I'm mentally blocking out the thought of how many transfats are in this dish but honestly this was one of the tastiest desserts. Even better when shared with good company!!

We devoured the dish in seconds. Literally. Our waitress came to our table to check if our dish had come out yet and was surprised to see a cleaned up plate! She even commented on it, haha.

Overall, Umami exceeded my expectations - totally made the 2 year wait worth it! (haha!!) I highly recommend it - they've got locations in California, New York, Chicago, and Las Vegas!

Can't wait until I can get my hands on another Umami Burger.

Cat Gotcha Soul | Redbubble #artinmotion

Hello friends!

I've got another outfit to share with you. I'm working with Redbubble for their Art in Motion Campaign! You can check out my other outfit featuring super cool pixel galaxy leggings here!

Next up, we got a good ol' graphic tee. Redbubble offers a ton of different designs! A cool graphic t-shirt can really kick up a basic outfit.

This design was essentially me during the school year. Definitely me when I was working on my thesis project. Also quite possibly what I looked like when I was shooting these photos because it felt like 35C outside and the humidity was basically making me sweat blood.

This is the Haunted shirt by Philip ElliotIt's a men's small, but fits like a loose womens medium.

What better way to spice up a basic outfit than with a colourfully printed scarf...?

As soon as you know it, it'll be fall and the temperature will gradually be cooling off. Light scarves are great for the fall - they keep your neck feeling warm and looking stylish!

This design is called Echoes, by Clair Brenmer. Super pretty light blue shades with little spots dotted about! This is also a very nice colour to wear during the spring seasons.

The last item that I received was this "Cat Got Your Soul?" design by obinsun on a sweatshirt! I own a ton of cardigans and button up sweaters, but no sweatshirts! This one is super soft, made with heavyweight cotton rich fleece. I actually ordered this one in a medium size when I should have gotten a small... I was worried about the arm length (just like with pants, my arms are really long)... A small would have fit me better but no big deal, I like the oversize fitting!

Redbubble has some seriously cool stuff - I highly recommend them if you're looking for a unique piece to add to your wardrobe! The cool thing is that you can customize the artwork to suit your needs - such as printing the design on tshirts, bags, prints, or phone cases! You can also print your own artwork onto clothes as well!

Check out the lookbook I made featuring some of the items over on my youtube channel!!

What are your favourite items? Are you currently lusting after any items on Redbubble? How do you style graphic tees and sweatshirts?

During the month of August, get 20% off your order with the code 'SACHIE'!! :D

Check it out on Redbubble!

Sephora Haul | Birthday Month

$

Heya lovelies!

GUESS WHAT, IT'S BIRTHDAY MONTH. Most people just celebrate their birthday on the day they were born, but I like to start it at the beginning of the month because...

1. My birthday is at the end of the month (August 30) and I can't wait that long.
2. Saves me from sitting at home in the evenings on Amazon adding things to my wishlist.
2. I can justify spending some money on a Sephora haul that I would normally be restraining myself from.

I'm also a firm believer in treating myself. So, today I'd like to share some things that I ordered from Sephora!

WOO! Let's check out my haul!

I bought two things from the website, and the rest are freebies or samples!  I like to order online because I usually order over the $75 free shipping mark, and you can get more samples/ beauty insider rewards online, as well as coupon codes! The Sephora website rotates samples weekly so there's always something new to try out.

Sephora was offering deluxe samples of 'trending' products. I quite liked using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion when I got my Naked 3 Palette (came with pod samples). I thought the lid was going to come with a mini applicator, but it's just a squeezy tube.

I decided to redeem some of my beauty insider points for one of the rewards. I picked up a mini Kat Von D Studded Lipstick in Lovecraft. I always hear people harping on about how amazing KVD lip products are, so I decided to try it out. I've tried and loved the Kat Von D Lock-it Powder Foundation, (bought 2 compacts - pigmented and full coverage.) Smaller than I expected, but whatever.

Nars Satin Lip Pencils in  Rikugien and Cruella. These are the Sephora 2015 Birthday Gifts, available for beauty insiders! I wanted to pick these up after seeing Emily get hers after a recent Sephora trip. Again, always hear people talking about how amazing Nars lip products are so I decided to give it a go. I've never tried anything from Nars so this was a first!

Kat Von D studded kiss lipstickin Lovecraft described as a 'matte mauve pink nude', (Little bit too dark to be a nude on me.) Applies matte, dries well, and lasts for a long time.

Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien is a frosted rose pink. Has more of a glossy finish than a rose finish. A nice brown-toned rose, suits me well but doesn't have very long lasting power.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in a Cruella. A scarlet red. I don't wear very many bold red shades. I feel like my lips are small and wearing a bold colour just accentuates that. However, it's very nice to blend out. Probably will make more appearances during Christmas season!

I caved. I caved and finally bought the ambient lighting powder from Hourglass. Am I a weak woman? Yes, yes I am. But I always swatched it in Sephora and thought it looked so pretty! I'm also a sucker for gorgeous packaging and it doesn't get any more luxe than this.

This is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. Dim light is described as a neutral peach beige powder. I didn't really want a highlighter since I've been using a Becca deluxe sample of their shimmering skin perfector and it's the only one I really use... This powder is so finely milled and so lovely, looks incredibly flattering on the skin. It gives my complexion a lovely glow without looking shimmery. I opted for this over the ambient lighting palette because I wanted smaller packaging, and I have no real need for a shimmery highlighter and bronzer... NO RAGRETS!!

Sephora Meet Your Match2015 set, with deluxe sample sizes for some cult lip and nail favourites. Mainly bought this for the Tarte lipsurgence pencil because I originally swatched Elite in store and fell in love, but couldn't justify the $29 price tag... Found there was a mini version and some nail products in this set, which worked out because I love all of the colours!

I'll be doing a full review of this set, so keep your eyes peeled! Should be coming out next week! :)

Follow me onbloglovin' if you haven't already so you don't miss a post!

Here's another one of my samples - a mini Atelier Cologne perfume in Sud Magnolia. I have another Atelier Cologne mini from a previous order (ssh) and this one is more citrus/floral scented, whereas the other was warmer/more earthy.

The text on the back of the poster is super cute! It says... "They met every year, without fail, always at the same celebration. He caught sight of her in the crowd. Her mask was adorned with white feathers and magenta crystals. He enjoyed a moment watching her search for him, but not for long as he yearned to have her dancing in his arms again."

How sweet! ;_;

Anyway, this was my haul! Hope you liked it! Such a good feeling to buy something again after putting myself on a Sephora ban since school ended...

Have you tried any of these products? Which ones are your favourite? Have you tried any of the Sephora Favourites sets?

Thanks for reading!

Japanese Shu Cream Puffs | Recipe

$

Hello lovelies!

If you follow me on twitter, you might notice that I'm really getting into baking lately! (I blame the Food channel.) I got super addicted to the Great British Bakeoff earlier this year....later followed by Cupcake Wars, and Spring Baking Championship. Now that I have a bit more time on my hands, I've been trying out some recipes!

I made Japanese shu cream puffs, with a little bit of a twist! I've used this recipe before and and it never fails.

This recipe is from little japan mama - a blog about japanese food, recipes, and travel! Very cute.

The difference in my recipe is that I did not make the pai-shuu crust. I also added a heaping tablespoon of instant espresso powder and some hot chocolate powder to the puff batter to give it a little bit more flavour! This resulted in a slightly bitter pasty, which compliments the egg custard.

You can find the recipe with metric cups, grams, and celcius temperatures here.

You can find the main recipe page here.

Cream Puff Pastry (Choux)

4 oz butter (regular, salted)
1 cup water
1 1/2 cups plain flour, sifted
5 eggs
pinch salt

Custard Cream:

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
4 egg yolks
3 cups milk
30g real butter
Vanilla extract

Make the custard cream first - a few hours before making the puffs. This allows the custard to cool.

Custard Cream
1. Using a whisk, Combine flour and sugar,
2. Add:  4 egg yolks and about 40mL of the milk, whisk until combined.  Add remaining milk and vanilla extract.
3. Stir over medium heat, till it thickens (Often scraping the bottom). When it's thick and bubbles start to blob up, remove from heat.
4. Stir in 30g real butter
5. Allow to cool with plastic wrap on surface to prevent a "skin". Refrigerate until cold.

Cream Puff (Choux) Pastry
1. Place butter, salt, sugar and water in a large saucepan over high heat.  When butter is melted and it starts to boil, remove from heat and...
2. Immediately tip in flour all at once, and beat into a firm dough with wooden spoon.
3. In a separate bowl, lightly whisk 5 eggs.  Add approximately one egg to the dough at a time, beating well in between with a wooden spoon.

4. Spoon into a piping bag and pipe directly downward onto paper-lined tray.  If you like, use chopsticks or fingers to pull pastry upwards on the sides, to make them taller and rough-surfaced.
5.  Place discs of Pai-Shuu Crust Dough on top.
6.  Immediately bake in a very hot oven 210-220 degrees Celcius, 25-30min until well puffed and browned then down to 100 degrees C for 40 min or more to dry.
7.  Allow to cool (the puffs will firm up and become strong) before peeling the baking paper from the bottom of the puffs.

These are super yummy and easy to make! You just have to be careful cooking the eggs over heat as to make sure you don't scramble them.

You can check out more japanese recipes over at Little Japan Mama's blog! I know I'll definitely be looking at new recipes! :D

Have you tried shu cream puffs before? Have you had custard pastries? What have you baked recently?

Heya lovelies! I've got another exciting (and incredibly cute) post for all of you today! Stay tuned until the end of the post for a very special giveaway - one weekend pass to a lucky winner for Fan Expo Canada, courtesy of Hallmark Canada!

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Hallmark? For me, it's birthday cards and seasonal decorations! I lovelovelove sending out Christmas cards every year, especially doing my annual card exchange with friends...Gives me an excuse to go shopping for the pretty glittery cards printed on heavy cardstock. I love me some cardstock ok?

But! Hallmark has come out with the cutest little set of plushies. They remind me of upright Tsum Tsums (adorable and collectable... I feel an addiction coming on...) They've released a set of geeky Itty Bitty's of characters that I'm sure many of you will be familiar with. Even better -Hallmark will be at Fan Expo this year! This will be their first time exhibiting at Fan Expo, and their booth has a lot of fun things in store. Hyap is gonna help me model some of them today :D

I'll be doing a meetup at the Hallmark booth this year at Fan Expo! I'll be posting the times/location on my social media so make sure you're following me on twitter, facebook, and instagram.

Let's start with... The Avengers! (Well, half of them anyway!) Iron man, the Hulk, and Captain America!

Which one is your favourite? I'm always Team Cap because I'm pretty weak when it comes to muscular, blonde hair, blue eyed men in muscle suits. Hnnnnnnggggggg.

Can't stop this bromance! HEHEHE. #civilwar

We can't miss out on Spidey, can we? Don't worry, you've got some marvel-ous friends. (Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha hahahahahahaha) There's also a set of Itty Bitty's which includes the Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman etc if you're more of a DC fan.

Another set that I'm super super super excited for is the Star Wars set! If you haven't already heard, there's going to be a new Star Wars Movie coming out in 2016! It's highly anticipated and everyone seems to be talking about it. As someone who watched Starwars quite late (....last month), I can't wait to see the revamped version. I don't think I can fully appreciate the early 2000s graphics. Anyway, I've got quite a few Star Wars goodies to show you...

Han Solo and Princess Leia! Look at these cuties~ You can get them as a pair in this adorable set!

Family portrait :D

Here's a lil' R2D2! I'm sure if you've ever been to a comic convention, you've seen one of these guys whizzing around. There's always a remote controlled one at Fan Expo, and it's super cool! He makes noise and his head spins around :D

If you're a big Star Wars fan, you can even find this exclusive collectors set! How cute are these? These would make a really cute gift for friends and family who are fans - definitely look out for these in my Christmas gift guide! :)

The force is strong with this one! How could we miss Darth Vader?

So many cute plushies! Make sure to check them out at Fan Expo where you can pick up some cool collectables, or at your local Hallmark Store! Itty Bittys are 6.95 each and you can find them at your local Hallmark store.

LUSH Rosy Cheeks + Don't Look At Me | Face Mask Reviews

Helloooo lovelies!

I'm a lush fiend. Every time I walk past a LUSH store in a mall, I'm drawn in by all the pretty soaps and that strong fragrance that seems to warn you that the shop is quickly approaching. I like to treat myself to a Lush face mask about once a month... After discovering that their BB Seaweed face mask helped calm my acne, I've been hooked! I typically like to pick up BB Seaweed or Love Lettuce, as my skin seems to like them, and they've got a pleasant fragrance/texture.

However, when I popped into Lush the other day, I noticed two new face masks! I looked these up after and according to a few reviews, they were Oxford Street exclusives. I guess they've released them in North America!

The first was their Rosy Cheeks Face Mask. Pink? Rose Scented? Insta-buy!

My only disappointment was that there was hardly any product in the pot. I know its only 60g per container, but after looking after other people's reviews, mine looks particularly empty! Hardly half of the pot! :(

Rosy Cheeks is a thick, clay based face mask. It's very thick, and a little goes a long way. It's a little dry, similar to Oatifix. Once you rub it into your face, the mixture warms up and it becomes easier to spread!

In my opinion, Rosy Cheeks has the truest rose scent out of their various rose products. It's got a scent that is very similar to my Chloe by Chloe perfume, so lovely. Rosy cheeks is supposed to calm and soothe rosy cheeks. As someone who experiences some facial redness (on a regular basis, not including shoujo blush), this is a godsend!

I have yet to notice any difference in the redness in my face, but it does smell very nice and I'm absolutely in love with that rose scent. It does make my face feel soft afterwards! If you're a big rose fan like myself, I highly recommend this.

I never see reviews of people wearing the masks in reviews so I thought I'd pop this in, lol. And yes, I was taking a bath! Best time to relax with a face mask. :D It's a very light pink colour. (Also yay, my brows are growing in!!)

Only downside is that it's almost double the price of their regular face masks. 60g retails for $12.95. It is only available in store at the moment. Not sure if this is a limited edition product or not. I love this mask, so it'll likely become a special treat :)

The other face mask that I picked up was the Don't Look At Meface mask,

This mask is probably the complete opposite to Rosy Cheeks! Don't Look At Me is a cleansing, scrubby face mask. It's most striking feature is the bright blue colour! Compared to Rosy Cheeks, it's very liquidy and has exfoliating properties. It has an invigorating cittrus scent!

Don't Look At Me contains "ground rice to gently scrub away dry skin, murumuru butter moisturizes and zingy lemon juice tones." I like this mask. It reminds me of a wetter, citrusy, and bright blue version of Love Lettuce! Very refreshing...more of a mask I'd wear in the mornings or before going out for a special event or something!

I can see why they call this mas, "Don't look at me!" haha!! Again, this mask costs more than the regular masks at Lush. This retails at $10.95 for 60g! The lemon scent is quite strong. I like the texture - its exfoliating but not harsh. A nice treat but I think I'll stick to my Love Lettuce, just because its about $4 more!

Overall, both masks are lovely, and I'll likely repurchase in the future!

Have you tried these masks? What are some of your favourite Lush products? Have you tried any of their face masks before?

Thanks for reading!
